I was wondering what should be the normal amount of games played against someone new. The reason whi I ask is because I have been getting new friend request and I don’t want to be rude and just play a few games and dip! With people I’ve played before I will invite multiple people into the room, but when its someone new I’m going to play against I make it a privite 1 on 1 room so we can play best of 5 or best of 10. Which do you think should be the standard when battling a new person.
Privite 1 on 1 best of 5
Privite 1 on 1 best of 10
Privite 1 on 1 race to 5
Privite 1 on 1 race to 10
Free for all with randoms included
Tell me what you guys think. I just started to do my matches like this because I got tired of trying to play against some new players and have 4 random scrubs pop in my set with someone. If I invite you into a room and we have never played before it will be 1 on 1 privite so we can play each other without waiting for the person to whoop on some random scrub that pops into your room.
I normally only want to play race to 5 or 10. Now if I’m playing in a room with a lot of people I will play longer, because I get to play against more people and I won’t care how many I play. If I invite you and others are in the room with me then you should know that a good session is going down and I want you apart of it. I hope to play against some new players in the future! Its the challenge that still drives me to play sf! People that I’ve played before I will invite them to a privite room with good players so we can get a good session going.
As someone who is still learning, I do appreciate it when a better player then myself will stay for a few games even though they are consistently winning. With that said a race to 5 would still be sufficient if you don’t find the new player challenging. That should give anyone a chance to learn from mistakes while not wasting to much of your time and allowing you to play with others. When it comes down to it though, its on you.
We got matched up in quick play and had a lot of Dictator/Dictator matches a couple days ago. You won the majority, but they were fun. Learning to be aggressive with charge characters isn’t easy.
If someone is obviously new, and making the same mistakes every round I think best to 5 is fine. If it looks like they’re trying to get around your tricks or work around their mistakes I’ll stick around for a while longer.
Hey man ggs. I still dont know many SRK people and I’ve been sticking to friendly quick matches recently (havent got into the ranked stuff). I’ve been using charge characters (and T Hawk) so far because my combo execution sucks when it comes to qcf motions lol. If you’re ever up for some more games then add me on PSN.
I don’t mind losing over and over (and over) to people who are better than me as long as they’re not completely dominating me to the point where it’s just hopeless and I’m not learning anything.
I need to add more people on PSN. Mind if I add some of you guys?
