How many copies did SFAC sell?

Omni, if you can, PLEASE post the sales for October. I want to see how well Castlevania and Soul Calibur 3 did. Oh, and I forgot: One stupid, yet liable reason why Tekken 5 is selling pretty bad is because of the lack of online play. Sad, but true.

Castelvania came out in Novemeber so I have no numbers for that yet. Soul calibur 3 also came out really late in October if I remember right. Castlevania won’t sell anything, don’t even bother worrying about it. SotN sold less than 300k last time I checked.

Soul Calibur 3 = 92,000

castlevania cotm: 480k

castlevania aria: 158,000

castlevania dos: 77,000

top 10 for the month of october:

ps2 socom 3 = 381,000
ps2 nba live 06 = 360,000
psp gta: lcs = 158,400
ps2 madden nfl 06 = 1.9 million
ps2 dragonball budokai tenk something = 140,000
gcn pokemon xd: gale of darkness = 160,000
ps2 fifa soccer 06 = 107,000
ps2 the warriors 96,000
ps2 soul calibur 3 = 92,000
ps2 tony hawk american wasteland = 92,000

The numbers I listed are for total sales not by sales that were done in October which is unfortanutely how I arranged the chart. Of the top 10 - 7 were brand new entrants which is why I did it that way. NBA Live, Madden and Pokemon were the only 3 that had been on the charts before so everything else is how much they have sold for october and total sales so far.

Omni, do you have DS and PSP hardware sales figures?

I’m curious to see who is on top right now.

SC3 sold that much in a weeks time? Wow…

I’m curious to see the sales of my game Urban Reign for PS2. The game is like Namco’s best kept fighting game secret, so it probably isn’t lighting the world on fire…

BUT, there is an ad for it on the back of the SC3 instruction manual. And, SC3 is doing well…

So, it would be interesting to see whether Urban Reign’s sales increase a little in the coming months…

Wow, Pokemon still sells. Oh, and in 1 week, GTA: LCS is able to sell more than Aria of Sorrow ever did. I had a feeling DoS wouldn’t do as well, but it’s still very early. If SC3 still sells OK, than it will get Greatest Hits.

It seems that LCS is doing better than any DS game. Oh well, the November sales will make or break it. Let’s see how Mario Kart does. Oh, and it’ll be cool to see DS vs. PSP sales in America. I know DS is winning worldwide, but it seems that PSP is very strong where I live.

Urban Reign = 8,850

wow…wow. Thats fucking sad. Here is my other favorite one that makes me laugh nonstop.

Death By Degrees: 18,000

top 5 for PSP (total)

  1. Need For Speed = 366,000
  2. Untold Legends = 335,000
  3. Twisted Metal = 334,000
  4. Wipeout Pure = 234,000
  5. Ridge Racer = 230,000

top 5 for DS (total)

  1. Super Mario 64 = 1.15 million
  2. Nintendogs (all 3 combined) = 597,000
  3. Wario Ware Touched = 340,000
  4. Spider-man 2 = 330,000
  5. Asphalt Urban GT = 220,00 (wtf?)

I don’t have numbers for hardware sales.

BTW, pokemon emerald = 1.5 million. Pokemon still sells.

Derek

Omni, what are the numbers on Castlevania DS?

probably no more than 500,000 copies, if they were lucky.

MKD sold like 1 million? and that was considered a best-seller (vomit).

Jesus why dont all us SF players stay with the xbox rather than blowing $400 on a system that doesnt even have any games out that are worth getting the system for. Simple solution lol.

airthrow,

castlevania dos: 77,000

Hahahaha, this thread turned into a huge flame war. I think ppl should cite sources and links with their posts to support what they are saying.

Play the old Grand Theft Autos. It’s like the apocolypse is coming or some shit. Ppl walking around on fire, cars driving on fire but never blowing up, but when you get in one “WASTED” LOL shits peerty funny.

Really sorry to bump this thread back up. But I would’nt know where else to look.

But I was wondering how well DOA2 Hardcore did for the PS2 and DOA2 did on Dreamcast.

I think the reason you got bad rep for you comment is because you’re missing the point of what he’s trying to say. Which is in itself a bit extreme.

We all are into 2d fighting games and thus we all know that graphics are no more than graphics. But what he tried to say is, people who buy the games are sooner to be interested in a game that looks smooth high res and sexy than a jaggy game with few colors. Thus although the hardcore fighting game scene who which we belong to can look through the graphics barrier, the mainstream casual gamers would much rather play good looking smooth well animated fighting games.

No point of getting into the discussion of which character designs are best and which suck, I think it’s very dependant on what style you like. Guilty Gear really has the modern anime style going for it, which is incredibly popular at the moment. While KoF has old school semi-realistic anime style, which to many people has sort of lost it’s charm.

Now, yes these figures are very depressing, but be happy to live in a country like the US for that matter, do you guys have any clue what the sales are in the Netherlands? Guilty Gear probably didn’t even make it past the 500 kopies, and I doubt KoF sells at all. Rather difficult to find competition like that, have to build the scene myself
