i have an n-groove team. but i don’t know if i should learn another groove and team.any advice?
i say learn at least 5 characters for counter team purpose and one other groove.
all you need is a-groove. it counter’s every other groove.
and all you need in that team is blanka, bison and some other person you like to use. blanka/bison should be r2. vega is a pretty good 3rd person, i don’t think there are any characters that out right counter vega.
5 or 6 is a good number. And you might want to dabble in another groove just in case. If for nothing else than to learn what to look out for. I like to have a team that I can feel comfortable with. And the same 3 guys can never feel that way. You may be the best Ryu/Ken/Akuma player, but there’s gonna be a team that will naturally tear you apart. Always have a backup or 2.
I use S-groove (and rarely K groove) Terry, Rock, Ken, Kyo, Geese.
i always heard a-groove was a gay-ass boring groove. is this not true? i learned bisons cc but not anybody elses.
if you can play a-groove (ie. CC and RC), it’s like cheating in CvS2.
you turn :hp: + :hk: into a lvl 3 super that only costs half the bar if you screw up the activate (ie, get hit out it), you can RC.
But to be honest, if you can RC, there will be hard matchups, but there won’t be impossible match ups IMO. If you know your characters inside out like the Japs do, you technically only need to know 3 characters.
But inside out means you know all hte match ups for your characters, what you can and cannot do against that character, which pokes beats what, what the other character can and cannot do against you, etc. That’s why you always see them sticking with one team…so they can practice the match ups. They force themselves to play bad match ups so that they can learn how to play it. best example i can think of is honda vs hibiki. Honda players in japan will not shy away from hibiki, even though hibiki is good at countering honda.
just play whoever you want to. Learn the matchups for your characters and try to work around bad matchups. You can use any team you want casually and that can help you learn the frame data and bnb’s that you don’t know about. But honestly knowing your matchups and what to look out for is really priority. So is execution
Learn Kim, that is all.
Or learn A-groove. Watch the Evo DVD; pick 3 characters out of Vega, Blanka, Sak, Bison; whore up RC everything; activate and win.
close the thread, that’s the winning formula to cvs2.
learn every character, best player in my city plays random, and wins
are you somewhere in hawaii?
The best players here don’t play random… but they could.
I can almost use everycharacter… but not as effective as my best ones
my main team…
K kyosuke Rock Kyo
then theres guile ken sag(newb character!) hibiki blanka vega hoamaur ryu ryo in C A or K…sumtimes P for fun
Learn every character you can, and in as many grooves. Why?
-
You learn how to play each character, and get to see how to play from the other side of the fence.

It’s fun learning how to do new stuff…we are still playing for fun, right?
A-Groove btw, boring?!? A-Groove is loads of fun, in fact it is fun-o-rama!!! Activate, do a 30 second combo and end it with a super! And then there are variations to those 30 sec. combos to play with…Wow, I haven’t said anything about RC’s either!!!
