You know you have a fair amount when it warrants a video!
LOL. True. I was gonna do a group pic, but they are in 3 rooms and I donāt have my wide angle lens at the moment.
BTW, would Twin Sticks count as Arcade Sticks?
I have 2 ea. of the 360 Twin Stick EX, Saturn Twin Sticks, and 3ea. of the DC Twin Sticks.
For sure them 360 hori oneās are like the arcade.
I managed to track down and negotiate a good price ($230) for the ps3 version, but I just couldnāt pull the trigger because I couldnāt find anyone that could swap the pcb out and with a six axis AND keep the dual analogue sticks analogue.
Nice collection though.
Having a decent sized collection myself, I use a stock but wireless VLX diamond for fighters and og VLX with suzo 500 also wireless) for shmups
The rest collect dust but satisfy the hoarder in me.
Which ones do you use the most?
You referring to the Hori Twin Stick EX? If you are, the PS3 version is by far harder to get for some reason. I would love to have that.
My collection of sticks, like my games, are just an ACCUMULATION of what I and my brother used to actually play with. Most anyway. And you always get two, so no complaints from the other player about having an advantage of having a āspecialā controller. Most were bought to play Virtua Fighter games at launch, cause how can you play VF without a proper stick? And those were pre-chthulu/electronic multi-adapter days.
Donāt get me wrong though, some I bought over again, just so I could have them brand new. Maybe I am a hoarder and am in denial. LOL. The Diamond Vewlix, never played with it. Just opened it up to look at it, pressed the buttons a couple of times and made sure the stick was ok, took pictures, and back in the box it went. Iād say about 10 of them were never used. The are supposed to be displayed out of box, but they will just get dirty. I was thinking about building a lit glass display, but the game room is not that big. Iād say 80%+ of my ACCUMULATION is in excellent condition, with only a handful without box and instructions.
I would have bought more, but I stopped cold turkey about 5 years ago as I have litterally run out of storage space⦠and Sega stopped making Virtua Fighter games and sticks
I use those Blast City / Astro City based ones with pad hacks. I have several console adapters and pads, so I can easily switch them for use for the majority of consoles. This answers the question of āis this as good as the arcade controls,ā cause it littereally is the arcade.
I donāt have current gen PS4/XBOne consoles though, as the current gen games donāt really interest me. And Iām actually thinking of downsizing. They just take up too much room. The Twin Stick EX box is humungous.
Same here, started down sizing last year, will just keep the 2 vlx I use
Only console I use is ps3, got everything I need digitally, Japanese psn helps with old school games fighters and shmups
Yeah, I signed up for Japanese XBox live as well.
Just looked at your collection, very impressive⦠but 3 VLX Diamonds? Damn. Did you get them new? How rare are they anyway. I thought they were supposed to be āextremely limitied.ā
No they are not extremely limited, I would say your vf5 ps3 stick in the V shell is more rare
2 of vlxās are sealed, but the 2 boxed diamonds are not.
I bought them used, I had the money to buy them new but I thought I would hang fire because my wedding may go over budget.
And i was right to hang fire, wedding was waay over budget. So I bought the diamonds Years later but could not find new ones so bought used
Thanks for the info. Didnāt know the VF5FS stick was rare. Come to think of it, you donāt see them much, if at all in the secondary market.
8 year old thread lol. Do people still play fighting games. Is gootecks and mike Ross still friends. Does combofiend still work for capcom. Iāve been out the game for so long lol
Foehammer going out of business.
Jasen customs us no more.
Paradise Arcade and Focus Attack is still around.
And the forums is pretty much dead
I saw some vice piece about fighting games so I figure I check out the forum. The event looks like it got a lot bigger so i figure the scene would too. I wonder why the forum is dead. Is there any good fighting games anymore. I know capcom dropped the ball on some. I stopped when they put out SF5 on playa toon only.
Figured itād be interesting to keep track and update my last post here from Dec 2016.
