If you want to get better, try and spend more time in battle lounges against Ultra silvers +.
Actually getting them to play a terribad for long stretches is hard.
If you can get a gold to play you for a bunch of sets, even better.
I learned the most I ever have about SF going to a couple locals. A guy who was MUCH better than me played probably 100 sets with me over 2 weeks. I think I won 2, but by the end my game in SFIV had gotten noticeably better.
Scrubbing out wins against other Bronze’s won’t teach you much other than people who are as bad as you also can’t anti-air, or whatever.
You know what, this actually helped me a lot. I was frustrated and decided to take your advice and hop into random lounges with people higher levels than me and it took the stress of ranked off me a lot and allowed me to look at matches more objectively, although I still wasn’t having a whole lot of fun. Thanks a bunch though.
Getting bodied is the road to getting better by the by. Aint no fun in knocking down ketchup bottles. “Lose and learn” is practically Fighting Games 101.
I’m going to play Devil’s advocate here and say that some people don’t find enjoyment in being completely bodied. My best friend IRL used to be like that. I’ve always wanted him to get into fighting games, yet he would only indulge for a few rounds before giving up because I was much more skilled than he was. I could tell he was visibly annoyed with getting bodied instead of eager to get better, but over time, he grew to start enjoying the fight regardless of how poorly he was doing, and in conjunction with me giving him some pointers, he got better and has been able to actually beat me in certain instances on Third Strike. That said, it’s much harder to be motivated into playing people that are much more highly skilled if they’re not around to push you into wanting to be better. Those who don’t have fun getting bodied and don’t have friends who are into fighting games at any level are forced to find friends at local tournies or suffer through online play. Perhaps there’s hope that those guys can end up like my buddy who now went from being complete ass to being somewhat shitty.
Longer answer: You’re not ready for ranked. You’re eventually going to have to fight people of that level regardless so play some casual or lounge sets vs some people here and start learning. Ask lots of questions, GIT GUD
Isn’t asking people here to play with you against the rules? I thought that making threads looking for players is against the rules. I most certainly would be looking for people to play with here if it wasn’t against the rules
You are looking atit wrong. no matter your level you will be matched up with people the same, worse, and better than you. The problem is you aretoo worried about winning. Every time you lose to somemone better than you you get better because by getting beat you learn what dose not work. If you only played people at your same skill level you won’t get better because you are getting away with stuff that does not work and not properly punishing the mstakes your opponent. Look at your league points as currency; you get league points for beating people worse than you and get to spend those points etting to play people better than you. I couldn’t disagree with this more. I really don’t think getting beaten over and over and over again is helping me at all. I just get super pissed off. That and LP is the only measure of my improvement because there are no other ways to tell.
Edit: Also been against 3 super silvers and a gold all in a row so consider me tilted
If you get super pissed off at losing random ranked matches then you really need to get off ranked. Start finding some people here to play lounge matches with and get to actually learning rather than just flexing your fighting game muscles and hoping for ranked wins.
