heh, and I just thought about it…something the younger generations don’t know about… back in the day ('80s and probably early 90s), there was a local info-line for the time and weather. At least in Memphis, this was “JAM JAM 1”, or whatever that worked out to on a rotary phone. When you call that, an automated voice would tell you something like “The time is… 7:38 PM. Temperature: 41.” Haha, who even uses that shit anymore? I wonder if it even still exists? Even before the internet, that was obsolete just from the existence of The Weather Channel. People likely just called it for the weather, because even back then… you could just look at a wrist-watch or a regular clock on the table.
