Money Matched Knives at SCR, my main team of Cap/Morrigan/Task went 2-2…
But the depressing news is my captain pretty consistently lost to spencer/sentinel. Granted, Knives has the best Spencer I’ve ever seen, but my cap felt quite powerless to stop it even when I knew what was going on. The risk reward was at all times in Knive’s favor because of Spencer’s superior damage output and his mobility was also better, letting him call Akuma to force my hand or Sentinel if I wasn’t in range to stop it. If I super jump over drones, I eat one Spencer mix up then the Akuma forces another… so none of my options were effective.
When I had Taskmaster on point it was completely different. I could snipe Sentinel full screen, Mighty swing to beat mid range grapples, and effectively outmaneuver him often.
Spencer definitely may be a problem with Captain.
My Morrigan blew him up super bad though and picked up the slack. Haha.
i’ve always found cap/spencer to be an unusual and not very fun matchup =/
Man in vanilla fighting Spencer it was like crazy hard now…it feels more even…to me Spence has slightly better normals than Cap…so alot of times I trade with spencers…alot of spencers like to assist and zip slightly above normal jump height. I double jump like always with Cap against him. And if you super jump just before you land try to use your double jump to force off timed counter attack and be ready to be thrown. Anti air kick alot of his zip attempts…Usually I push block when he halfway through his ground chains…cause with assist he can be safe but if u push right moment counter with charging star I get alot of happy birthdays…hyper stars and stripes can stuff bionic arm…unless he is xfactor…if you both in same xfactor level u can stuff it with hyperstars and stripes…if you get him to start blocking pressure him bottle him as much as u can…I know I like to use arthur as an assist his super fast at pulling the daggers out it usually is hard to react. So im guessing it depends on how u play Cap. But I feel Cap can go toe to toe with Spencer in melee range.
Well I would request you play against a Spencer like Knives or Combofiend and record it, because I can’t figure out how that works
LOL well good lord hmm Combofiend is pretty crazy with whoever lol… Im just trying to give general tactics. Im not saying anything is full proof. Against Sent I would try to play Cap within shield slash striking distance…just pay attention to when u hear the announcer call the assist if your not in a good position to counter it… evade it best you can.
Crackfiend started a Captain America hype train yesterday… he beat someone with Cap after not playing for the longest time, got up on the seat and screamed AMERICAAA and I was too inspired not to join it. I dropped Morrigan for a night and picked up the shield.
Blew through Ricky Ortiz, Chrisis, Pedro, and maybe one more to get to grand finals while singing the national anthem at the top of my voice, often getting the crowd in on it too. Finally reached a halt at grand finals, couldn’t stop Vergil/Strider. But I was amazed with how well I did. Should be on http://www.youtube.com/user/ShoryukenTube soon.

Not to toot my own horn but you and I played (albeit, just once :(…) And my Cap team got the better of yours that time. (Nerfed2much) Though I wish we could have ran it back, I feel I definitely have a pretty good Sgt. Justice (I named my Cap).

Man I realise how far I have come with Cap since I only picked him up from Ultimate release. Seriously it is insane that now my gameplan is basically get a TOD either by burning all the meter I have or if I don’t have enough meter, either TAC into Doom and gain lots of meter through it or do the good ol’ Cap and Spencer reset. If Cap dies, I still have Spencer who can do the same effect of TOD with meter or TOD with lots of meter with a TAC. I’m still lost on why Cap isn’t in the 10 overused characters…
Figured this would be worth our time, I have things mapped out but I’d need some help getting this started.

I got top 32 at Power Up. There were 2 other Cap players there that placed higher than me. Im really salty about that because I beat one of the players by the name of Otter in casuals a couple times and people were telling me that my Cap is as strong or stronger than Blacktastic. Otter and Blacktastic are really good and I have nothing but total respect for Bobby so its cool. My goal for Power-Up was to make it out of pools and to have people learn my name and fear me. So I succeeded.
Next major I plan on attending is UFGT8. The goal this time is to get seeded, maybe get into the money.
I don’t recall playing you but ggs.Blacktastic pretty much played drones + cartwheel so i didnt get to see much Cap. I got top 16, and was literally one hit away from top 8 lol. this game really needs to be 3/5. it was a good time though.
I’m going to season’s beatings instead of UFGT or I would love to mm you.

I use Captain America, Hawkeye, and Nova. I’ve been getting blown up every game cause I’m new to Marvel. I don’t even know how to approach with Captain and opponents keep rushing me not giving me a chance to think. I need help learning this game.
That team is a good team but you have to specialize in one (or preferably all) of those characters in order to make it work. All I can tell you is to keep playing and focus on learning how to block and advance guard effectively because the opponent can’t win if he can’t hit you right? (theoretically) And make sure you get good with Cap because he sets the pace of the match.
