They were gg’s, 50+ matches. And yeah, that was crazy. It has really nice invincibility but never seen the Hyper Charging Star go “through” Shuma lol
Do you play on PSN? If so i’d like to get some sessions in with ya sometime
I’m looking to get in some sets with you soon ken if you have time, hopefully we can set something up
I’d love to see what other good Cap’s are doing that I’m not, and vice versa. That and of course to get good matchup experience against a good Cap lol, it seems hard to get that when you main Cap yourself lol.

Hey guys, went to a local tourny and placed 4th out of 25 in MvC3. . . .i had a happy birthday and i screwed up my inputs. . . i was so salty lol. . . . .I took 3rd in AE though so i guess i am happy about that
it’s only online cuz there isn’t much of a local scene but i’ve made it to 5th lord.
XBL: Slash Wink. hit me up to compare notes.
Hey guys I just won a UMvC3 tournament with my Cap lol! I’ll upload a bunch of footage later!
Nice! I won a tourney a few days after launch with my Cap/Nova/Strange team, and a few 1st place finishes in Vanilla tourneys with Cap/Shuma/IronMan. Good to see some other Cap players doing well.
I’m loving this OTG Shield Slash
Won Tight or Fight then got blown up at the invitational, feels like going from top to 0-2
But then Cap helped me expose HonzoGonzo, so that’s still a decent night
Captain is going to be a strong character with a few slightly bad matchups, and the reason Cap is viable against pretty much every single team are his defensive choices. He has better defensive choices than nearly every character, with higher reward (with correct DHC) for them than almost every character. No patterns allowed!
By the way Dacid. I saw you lose at invitational because off this weird DHC you do after a Hyper Charging Star. Instead of DHCing to Devil Trigger, just DHC to Swords and you get a ToD on any character and build meter back. Hope you do better next time
If you mean the DHC I always use, I’m intentionally not killing to put Vergil as anchor with DT, then finishing with Task to regen meter. I’m going to be really straightforward and say that anything you’ve thought of I’ve thought of, here, but thank you for the suggestion.
OFC it’s possible the set up isn’t worth it, but I want my team to be unique. I lost for many, many more important reasons.
EDIT: And I don’t mean offense by that, just I’ve spent soooo long thinking about the way I’m doing things and why
I’m just baffled as to why you’re passing up easy tods for something which seems like a gimmick to me, but fair enough if you choose not to kill for a reason you’ve properly thought about
I got second with my Cap team at a small Michigan tourney last week Tuesday. Going for 1st today. Wish me luck n_n
Got 2nd this weekend at another small tournament, but good players in attendance (such as FlashMetroid). Lost to a friend of mine in Grand Finals who has some interesting Wesker + Strider tricks I hadn’t dealt with before
(I was using Cap/Nova/Strange for this tourny)
Permanently switching to Cap/morrigan/Task, and I expect to have fewer bad matchups as a result of it. Top 8 at TNT, lost to Champ but by less than normal, with an inexperienced Morrigan. On the up and up!
Hey Dacid, care to elaborate on the team switch reasoning?
Kei
Awesome Punish glad to hear that. Umm where do you live?? I live in Lithonia, Georgia we always had pretty good connections I thought you would live nearby. Cap n Nova thats some damage for ya… No more shuuma?? Well my team changed as well… Cap Firebrand and Morrigan.
Nice, I’ve been messing around with Firebrand also. I haven’t used Shuma much, but he’s pretty similar in Ultimate so I can always pull him out if needed. I’m in Central FL, so that explains the good connection.
Let’s get some matches in soon
Sure thing man.
First, having a meter assist forces approach from pretty much everyone but phoenix players (And even then I don’t have to approach right away), meaning I don’t lose to matchups like ghost rider/sentinel, where I can’t get in… I don’t NEED to get in, so ghost rider has to hold forward (similar for all zoning teams)
Second, I have a reversal with every single character on my team (or at least a counter), and a supplemental followup reversal DHC no matter what as a result. Since Morrigan spends most time in the middle, I also most commonly have a safe install DHC to either save Cap from HCS and score a free mix up or to control neutral game.
Third, if I cross counter to Task master, I refresh Cap and maintain the same solid synergy of reversal/safe DHC in the middle while my opponent is likely still waning towards a dead character.
Fourth, all characters still use XFC well. People who think Morrigan doesn’t probably haven’t seen the scariness of a nearly unrestricted air dash height. Morriganeto.
Basically, it’s less BS and more solid choices. I’m not going to have the same level of fear that Vergil can instill, but if I play solid I should have far less potential to be random-ed out while maintaining most of the strong options necessary to beat good players. I think it has a larger skill ceiling, and has less random-plot holes like “did I know my opponent was going to CC or not”, which I feel may become the name of the game for Vergil, later.
I got first place on ps3 at a boston marvel tourny. And I got second on the xbox version. Lol good weekend
I got 2nd in an online tourney. I choked and wasn’t able to clutch it out. Oh well, it was cap that did all the work. xD
