my friend uses guile’s flash kick as an assist attack. he does this everytime I try to jump in with spider man and do a combo. its hard to hit him cause he spams the assist with guile’s flash kick. can anyone tell me whats the best way to stop this flash kick strategy with guile?

Guile’s assist is really good, but REALLY punishable. I would do the spider-man unblockable to punish Guile’s assist while taking out the point man.
Maximum spider is unblockable if you do it with an assist out. Of course not to be done with Cable out there, because Maximum spider is so easy to read.
bait and punish. does he call it everytime you dash in? dash in and then back out and then unleash the FURY.
if hes calling it everytime you jump, neutral jump instead of jump forward and see how twitchy his finger is. or get a double jump character like cap chun or psylock then jump forwards then back, land, punish
the crazy part is that he will sometimes pick 2 guiles and spam the flash kick over and over again with the assists. he does it often but mainly when I jump in.
are you sure maximum spider is unblockable? I usually pick spider man akuma and iron man.I dont know any spider-man moves that are unblockable,. guile’s flash kicks cancels out just about every move

However, there are instances where spiderman will hit the assist with MS, and immediately cross you up. That layer can happen so incredibly fast and while its not unblockable,you definitely can’t react to it. Its definitely a buggy ass super. Instead of going off different walls, I’ve seen spiderman go off the same wall 3 times in a row before.
as far as stopping guile AA. Jupfwd do nothing, wait for guile to come out, once you see him fly out hit your assist button. That should stop guile. Also in the realm of low tier AA’s, guile AA is really good so you need a pretty good assist to combat him.
pick spiral(ground)/hulk(dash)/hood(proj)…
runaway knives til you have 3 meters… (takes like no time for spiral to build) bait him into calling guile… hit a1+a2… laugh…
I think the maximum spider unblockable might be more of a reaction situation, it depends on what they’re doing along with the assist. In the Ps3 and 360 version its a bit more glitchy. If your friend just spamming assist and blocking, by all means just MS his assist.

Its random but I’ve notice things like if I hold up I continue to hit the assist, when I hold down I pop up next to the opponent. Holding down basically stops the Maximum spider and you get instant recovery if your grounded. Also if your in the air you can still wed-dash and call your assist.

Thanks, 4 the spiderman information, interesting and reliable too, but now a have a real question, how can i beat a solid duc team?? I have experience vs santhrax, cable based teams, msp, and another solid teams but not against duc, i play mss, msp, mag sent psy, combofiend (which i would prefer to call 360 team), row, team Illan, matrix, well i almost can play any team, but may be my favorite is mag sent psy, so i hope to all u can give some advices. Thanks
#1 piece of advice-- stay patient. Don’t be afraid to rack up 20 or 30% in chip damage if that’s what it takes to not give Spiral an actual hit into DHC or snap. Trap teams thrive off of your inability to cope with the stress that perpetual lockdown creates. You can turn that to your advantage by staying calm and focused under pressure and making good decisions during the few openings that are available.
At some point you will be able to put the pressure on her. Look for an opening in the sword stagger that lets you square jump in. Once you get in, she will teleport, and you can dash to where she is/you think she’ll be and get your own assist game going. Another option (for a mag/storm team), if you can telegraph Spiral’s sword re-up, is to Tempest DHC Hail for some free life into your own lame game.
Pretty basic advice, but its basics that win this matchup. You just gotta make that one hit count and get the vortex going.
Learn when to neutral pushblock Spiral, a real Spiral player will never let you out of block stun if they know what they’re doing, you need to force block stun to end then either escape or punish. Do not do long infinites or combos on Spiral, do fast heavy hitting things. Drop things like Rom for things like 5 fierce, Spiral will chip you out a ton, but putting her out for a full gauge Cable doesn’t make your life much easier. If you have the chance bringing in Cable near the beginning of the match when he has no gauge and no safe way to deal with your options is good, but be ready to kill him fast. If you understand how to deal with Cable’s assist you can pressure Spiral really well with a lot of teams, just be wary that any connected Cable or blocked Sentinel is a free sword load. The less time Spiral has swords or Cable has gauge the better.
If Spiral isn’t already loaded punish the crud out of her assists, it’s risky for her to fight you and she has limited options in comparison with the gods for assist protection.
the super sinister cheezy way to deal with spiral knives is pick a character with a wide ass sprite (like juggs) and call a beam assist. Juggs is so big that just standing there holding back you’ll completely shield your beamer while they come out and beat out the knives… and you can even look for a chance to land head crush off that hit if she gets tagged. juggs + iceman.
This defeats knives + drones stupidly well… or at least to a point. She’ll have to mix up her patterns to avoid the beam and this create better chances for you.
Thanks by all ur advices men… @eczangief, u r telling all the true man, I´m very impatient, but i usually don´t have problems against traps, cause i´m used to kill them, well, i kill everybody but no spiral. @chrisis, it makes a lot of sense since spiral takes too much damage, and everybody gets nervous against the wall, u gave me a lot of ideas. @madTitan… Lol, I´ve never tried that before, so sent on point + mag beam would work?? Or should i try with IM proj assist??? Once again thanks everybody.
If you want an awesome projectile assist for dealing with Spiral horizontal typhoon is pretty amazing if it gets started, once out it will eat the low/mid swords and continue moving forward completely unhindered. Be really cautious about summoning assists for that though depending on how much gauge Spiral has, if it’s 4 or more don’t do it! Variable countering in Cable there leads to much unhappiness for assists like Storm that may be out.
nah not mag beam… you need a real beam… iceman definately the best. His ability to soak chip dmg and massive screen control vs her knives also make him good against her on point. IM proj also would work. Sent probably not as good as juggs. Juggs can just block and let the beam assist do the work… if he see’s the beam hit he gets huge dmg off just doing a super… hsf or rocketpunch are slightly slower and would be harder to capitalize with probably… unless you are just throwing it out there… which sigh sent can afford to do.

Spiderman “unblockable” is a crossup…
MS hits the assist and passes through the point character, hitting them from behind. If you know it’s coming, just hold forward and it gets blocked.
