How do you remove the gate from the SE stick

I’m planning on upgrading my stick and I wanna learn how to remove the gate before I do.

I say “along the lines” since this is a SE we’re talking about.

Ok, that helps. Also, I actually meant the restrictor plate, not the gate. I don’t wanna mess anything up and I don’t know how to take it off DX

Very carefully with a flathead screwdriver. You’ll probably end up stabbing your self a few times.

The gate on the SE fits VERY tightly. Use a tiny flat-head screwdriver and apply pressure from underneath the gate, rocking the screwdriver as if in an attempt to wedge it between the gate and the black plastic it snaps to. Do this to each of the 4 of them and it should come right off.

Oops, i was beat to it. Sorry. But actually the explanation in the post above works well of JLFs, but the SE joysticks are SO tight, it’s harder to do that way.

Yeah, I was just messing around with my JLF and thought how I misread it. My bad.

ok, last question. How do I remove the wire from the joy stick part. I’m a bit heisitant to just rip it out

I never tried removing it from the bottom. It probably is easier. Thanks for the pointer.

You just rip it right out. Peel off some of the glue, so it comes out.

This has to be a dumb question but the restrictor plate from which joystick is a bolt on replacement in the SE? I’ve looked high and low, but can’t find which octo gate fits with the stick in the SE.

Or do I have to put a new stick in it?

Since you looking for Octagonal, then it is GT-Y.
