How do you move on from a character

So I’m fairly new to the fighting genre but in loving sfv, it’s really opened my eyes up to a whole new way of playing video games after getting bored with the generic fps’s etc.

My only problem is that since I’ve had the game I’ve played nothing but ryu as I’ve read he is the easiest character to use while learning the fundamentals of sf.
Don’t get me wrong I love playing as him and although im not ready to move on from him just yet it does concern me the thought of having to learn a whole new character set when the time comes to move on.
Does anyone else struggle with this? I mean I’ve been playing for nearly 2 weeks and still feel I’ve only just scratched the surface with ryu so it kinda worrys me the thought of having to learn all the other characters eventually.

Just accept that you’re going to lose a lot and that it’s not a big deal. Commit yourself to playing the character and think about what causes you to lose and what your particular character can do about it.
You don’t have to play other characters of you don’t want to, anyway.

Once you have grasped the fundamentals, learning a new character will be a lot easier.
You’ll be able to understand and figure out things quicker and more effectively.

You say you’ve been playing for 2 weeks. At this point, I wouldn’t worry about changing characters or what a change would mean.
Pick one character as your “main” and keep working on said character.
However, nobody says you can’t play others just for fun.
I’m a Chun/Ryu player, but I really like busting out Cammy just for fun. I don’t play to win with her.

accept losses as growth
as you keep playing, you get used to how things go with that character
then it becomes muscle memory
but you have to keep trying
