You just need a usb card with a via chipset like the one there. Follow the advice in that post and you should be killer. That is, if you’re not a dual modder or anything.
I figured that out by now, also i would never risk a TE trying to mod it for a system i don’t even own. Actually…i guess that’s debatable i have a broken ps3 and a broken 360.
Ok some time later today im going out and buying a new chipset. Correct me if im wrong but all you need is one with a via chip, and there is no computer-specific restrictions?
I get the idea, Get a Pci usb card with a via chipset in it (I don’t know how to word it i’m tired). Also i’m not sure of what use it is but this is what i get in device manager under usb controllers.
And i read at least 15 pages of that thread. People are recommending this rosewell one off newegg but i don’t know.
You could have just researched harder before raging on the forums, multiple, multiple people including myself, have had this problem. I just bought a 360 stick. Since you’re on a desktop you can surely just purchase a PCI usb card and install that in your computer, should be no problem. I don’t think the card matters too much but there are some that have been tested to work. Check up on what your computer has got in it, and find some people with similar specs and see what they got that worked. Also, once again, stop raging on the forums.
Yah i will, im about to pass out atm, but yeah i get the idea ill go compare tomorrow. also: I will rage to my hearts content…until kyle comes and spoils all my fun :3
Get one with the VIA VT6212L chipset to be exact (like those pictured in the famous thread, first post). Doesn’t matter what brand, as long as it has that it should work. I got a no-named one and it worked well.
K, my new pci card arrived from newegg after about 3 days. i got the rosewill usb 2.0 5 port pci adapter with via chipset, for 11 dollars plus 10 shipping. Let’s hope it works.
