Ok this is frustrating the Shit out of me. I readily admit I am a noob at this game. That is fine. But When I try some attacks my opponent grabs my leg if it is a kick or Arm if I am punching and slams me. How do I avoid or counter this? And how do I do it myself? (I rented DOA:U yesterday so I dont and the manual)
Reversals are done with a direction and the free button (the block button). ub+free will reverse high attacks, b+free will reverse mid punches, f+free will reverse mid kicks, and db+free will reverse low attacks.
You can’t counter it in the way that you can “chicken” in Tekken. You have to just anticipate them reversing and either hit at a different height or throw them. If you get them during a whiffed counter you’ll do more damage.
The idea is to mix it up alot between high, lows and mids against the Comp. I found it counters alot less if you just mix up mid and low alot. Throws tend to get negated by the comp so I rarely bother.
Against players online, right now its still a good idea to throw more mid kicks than punches just because of the change in counters from DOA3 and poking into a throw is very effective as people seem to be blocking alot right now.
Whatever he says…but, I don’t want to scrub off mid kicks alot. Likes the “Counters ruin the game” version of DOA
Gosh, I’m still getting used to the forward + free change.
