In all seriousness, I do 40 hours a week and I find my job to be pretty enjoyable. The only thing I don’t like is that I have an hour-long commute, and that goes up every so often due to DC’s metro system being hot garbage.
My job really isn’t that bad, I just wish I had a different boss. For most of the year, it gets busy and that can be taxing. Still, I work from home two days a week and pretty much left to my own devices. So long as I’m not late on any project, I’m left alone. Home days I do work but at a leisurely pace, sometimes even work on my novel or any other freelance writing work I have. I work out at home before going to the gym, spend a little time with the gf, and then do work.
Working from home is life changing, imo. If you’re not tracked, anyway. For me, in the summer, work is always slow so I work on other projects and what little work I have at my 9-to-5 at a bar. It has a huge open door and $3 beers from 12-19:00. Can’t ask for better.

You have any idea how lucky you are? If there is not enough work load for you to do, like others said, start some side hustle or learn a new skill. I have a similar issue at my job when summer comes around or right after a major project is complete, so you know what I did? I started reading up on stock trading. When i got bored with that, I started learning ocarina(ctfu :mad: Zelda tunes are op!) then acoustic guitar. I’d listen to IT-related podcast and Bill Burr at times. Although we are Windows shop, I started learning bash shell using free Oracle VM to create own unix env etc. In summary, you can learn anything off the internet!

I just get by with having something I’m passionate at. Like boog and these other dudes who either lift or train… it becomes a lifestyle.
I probably spend another 20 ish hours a week in and around my dojo either training or helping out.

as I get older it sinks in more and more. I am a horrible employer but a great boss. Start your own business. Stop working for other people and work for yourself. Its the most liberating thing you could ever do. When you 40hrs for yourself vs someone else you fan feel the difference. The hard work you put in is for YOU and not a percentage of what someone thinks your time is worth. I work part time as a school bus driver. I get around 23 he’s a week abd I don’t spend a shit ton of time at my job. Compared yo working 40-50 he’s a week this is so much better IMO. And I go to school full time. I van study play video games and still have money to do shit with. I’d you gonna work for someone do it like that. Part time. Your time shouldn’t be limited to what someone deems you worth. the commute is the worst, without traffic I get there in 20 mins tops, with traffic is like hr and and some change
I hate when the radio is sometimes wrong " LITE TRAFFIC ON THE EAST 1-285 EXPRESSWAY" I get near there and there is an overturned bus or some shit

No seriously, complacency has nothing to do with keeping a career going for years. It is gumption. It is knowledge. It is just a skill to not get sick of your lot in life.
also if you get that mad at some dude posting that anger issues and being fired for fighting means you shouldn’t work with people and you won’t succeed because of those issues. It shows how you can blow up at any time. Anger issues are just as bad as tekno virus and his creeper issues.

I used to work 14-18+ hours a day 4 days a week on average at my first base, the 5th day was a normal 8 hour day. Party hard when you are off. Lol.
