How do you beat El Fuerte?

What the fuck? Where’s info on how to beat him with Cody?

Don’t use low ruffian, especially at match start. If you do, He will get two hits off far dropkick, combo into crMK, which means RScrMK or xx super and it’s time for the mixup.

Zonk knuckle’s invincibility is handy. Keep it in mind. Stick to holding HP. Fuerte’s love grabbing. You want to tech. You want to focus splash mountaineers.

CrLP with knife pretty much forces Fuerte to block since it’s fast and has good priority. Handy after a knockdown when he has no meter.

Knife is good in this fight. In Super, Fuerte has lots of slow normals with crap priority. And the knife will allow you to exploit it. If you have a clean opportunity to get the knife, grab the damn thing.

Stop throwing rocks and Use your rock feints when fuerte has meter But be careful if he’s got meter. Do not charge rocks unless he has no meter and is grounded. Otherwise you’re probably going to get RSF’d and/or knocked down for being stupid.

Keep it simple with combos to keep him floored. Fuerte has below average health.

Try your best to stay with the lead. Cody is slow as hell, fuerte can run away all day in this respect.

When you’re behind, don’t get mad, don’t get impatient and DON’T get stupid spamming dashes or ruffian while chasing, grab the knife, stalk carefully. Reason: cody’s front dash has enough recovery to catch a dash spammer with a slide or quesadilla. This is what I personally do vs every Cody I play. They NEVER grab the friggin knife, they start throwing rocks, they start spamming dashes, and I bore poor Cody into a timeout win, then offer him some food.

Try to not get knocked down. Cody’s not very good on wake up against Fuerte. Tortilla kinda eats him alive. If you’re knocked down just pay attention for patterens, remember your back dash and zonk.
