I’m at a loss here. It’s like a bullet hell where you can’t dodge the bullets. I’m playing Parasoul mostly - is that a bad matchup against keepaway? Should I try someone else?
Bodyguard soldier.
You don’t. You put down your controller and give me your money.
Peacock is designed around keepaway, so your best bet is to not try to outprojectile her. Just jump, float, use your soldiers, be patient, and don’t let her out when you get inside.
Sending out Parasoul’s motorbike special is a good way to close distance, they won’t be throwing anything once they see it coming. But other then that you just have to play a smarter game, its a major pain in the putt getting in on peacock, especially when they have assists to back them up.
Soldiers can take an unlimited number of hits from projectiles. (but only one physical hit). It’s useful and as mentioned, you just have to do your best to get close. once you do, you have to keep her close lest you get locked out again.
it also might help to have assists, parasoul might just be a bad matchup against peacock.
Haha I could tell thisd matchup was gonna be a difficult one for the Parasoul player when I was fighting against ai Peacock.
So
Egret bike,
Egret human shield
Jump medium kick ->glide (watch out for the plane bomb)
Forward Hard Punch
Super Jumps.
Forward Dash.
SNIPER SUPER!!! (this baby keeps anyone honest as heck at full screen)
I guess you gotta play it like runaway akuma, don’t lose your cool and advance through the hail of bullets as calmly as possible, then go for it as soon as you get in normal range.
Fortune and Cerebell when paired usually have an excellent matchup against run away Peacock spam, especially if your smart enough to quickly hit her with your head and poke her to death and stay out of range from all the stuff she throws on the screen. Its mad annoying dude, trust me I know, but I think Parasoul should have a good matchup against her match her especially with her tools like the guy above me listed off already. Be patient, don’t rush her unless your absolutely sure that you can kill her on the first touch.
Its even worse if she’s paired with a Parasoul Napalm Pillar assist, Double’s Hornet Bomber assist or Fillia dragon uppercut thing with her hair, just play it cool, safe and make sure you apply pressure with her tears while stopping yourself from taking to much chip damage Thankfully I main the above team mentioned so when I see Peacock I always assume that they are gonna try and spam me to death, whether it be solo, duo or trio. Either way she is still deadly and should be fought with caution, heck, I remembered frustrating a guy with Fortune by having my head chip him to death while I avoided taking to much damage by timing my double jumps properly. Sure she can hit the head but the only way to kill Fortune is to attack her body, which I made sure not to give her a chance and if she came to close for comfort then I had Cerecopter to save my life. If she blocks, I grab her and either throw her away or put her in the corner and proceed to victory. Its especially funny when you call your assist after they try to get up and either get her or are in blockstun for to long so I grab them again. Rinse, Wash and Repeat.
If you use a character with good air mobility options (I use Ms. Fortune and Valentine as part of my 3-person team for example), double jump + airdash forward/backward is good for getting around a lot of that:
-Valentine’s still able to throw crosses after doing double jump then airdash, so you can annoy her with those from that angle.
- You can whiff normals like j. mp and j. hp in between each jump/doublejump/airdash to build up to your 1st meter if you need to while you’re that high up in the air and dodging.
-Both Valentine and Fortune can whiff punish careless zoning with their air supers (Valentine can even use QCF+K xx QCF+ PP to get across the screen quickly and cancel into air super).
-If you block the laser part of her projectile super, double jump over the 2nd half of it then airdash to either get above or behind her and punish with a combo on your way down. You can also use ground super (Furserker Purrage or EKG Flatline) before the 2nd part starts if you’re close enough to her.
- Vs. J. HK + assist spam, it’s hard for Ms Fortune to simply use air mobility alone to get past this, but her own J. hk reaches far enough to tag Peacock and knock her down, so even if you end up trading it’s in your favor. Valentine has many more options to deal with this with her far range specials and supers being able to tag peacock out of it.
… I use Parasoul as my point character so I pretty much run the same tactics as listed in the posts above with her vs Peacock.
I approve this message.
most peacocks keepways i didn’t have much trouble with until today, I played a good amount against GOOD peacock’s keepaways… had trouble until I found out. Superjump for parasoul reaches almost the entire screen. one jump in and you’re in against peacock…
How are you going to get better by running away? :S
Is that how you pick up women?
Parkour.
Then you go to an offline session and get exposed as the idiot scrub that you are.
This may be the scrubbiest thing I’ve ever read.
Oh get a life you halfwit, its a videogame, not life itself because I haven’t found a way to deal with the bullshit as of yet. Its my decision and opinion so if you don’t like then deal with it. I choose to do as I please and if I don’t wanna stress myself out just because I have yet to figure out how to beat the oh so powerful Peacock/Double duo, then so be it. You and the guy beneath you are both taking this game a bit to serious don’t. Calm down, take a deep breath and go outside and do something I don’t know, productive? I don’t see why you and Dobega are both getting your panties in a bunch just because I choose to avoid it, last time I checked my life is not on the line in this game. There is no grand prize or anything on the line to even remotely have me interested to budge me off of my decision.
Online ranking don’t do shit for anybody and if your highly ranked it just means that your on PSN/XBLA a lot and you have experience. Nothing wrong with that, but still its just a videogame, get off your high horse and instead of worrying about my way of dealing with things. Why don’t the two of you so called “smart” guys offer some advice on how to beat this team, and note that I’m using the word smart very loosely cause I don’t see you morons offering anything else besides criticism to what I choose to do. Which is at the moment the smart thing rather than just getting mad and sending vicious hateful messages over PSN/XBLA like everyone else I have seen do on Youtube when they lost to this nonsense.
I have better time to put my efforts and strength to rather than just play target practice with me as the bullseye to Peacock spam, and if you have something to offer then please do so. Otherwise, sit down, get the sticks out of your butts and do something other than bitch, cry and moan because I chose the smart man’s way out rather than get salty about it later because I knew deep down I can’t beat it at the moment but still tried too anyway. Frig that. At least I’m man enough to admit that at the moment I can’t beat that crap now, keyword, being now. Are you following me? I’ll figure it out eventually when Mike finally patches this training mode and other stuff so the game can run better and I can actually train with sense. Or have a friend run me through a simulation of it while I figure ways to beat it Until then I can divert my energies to something else like I don’t know, learn new characters? Practice some interesting combos? Have fun? Ever heard of that guys, or is that lost to you two? Until then this is my opinion and this is me not giving a shit what anybody has to say about how I deal with things. See, I even offered a something useful in my message about how to deal with it, hold dat shit in your chest.
You could do something productive too; if you aren’t playing the game to get good/compete then why bother complaining about matchups? You should be comfortable in the fact that you can’t take certain characters, not complaining and kicking people from your online games for playing certain characters you and your MS degree in Game Design deem imbalanced/unfair.
You should consider reading “Playing to Win” by David Sirlin. tl;dr, as much as you try to sugar coat it you are acting like a complete scrub and have to overcome that mental roadblock that is scrubdom before you can even begin to play competitively/argue about matchups.
Stay salty, my friend

Honestly, the only way I can see myself getting better at dealing with this team is simply have a friend run me through the very same gauntlet I simply choose to avoid online. Peacock/Double is not invincible, far from it, but quite frankly their are few who can actually deal with going through a game of Gradius with those two. As it stands they are pretty damn good, even better with Parasoul and her Napalm Pillar assist so your dealing with Gradius and a Captain Commando assist that knocks you away and Peacock can just chain Argus Agony to it. Hell any free hit she gets is usually followed by that Blockbuster. The only ones who I can think of who can somewhat manage that are Valentine because of her double jump, her weird dash and that command slice thing she does with her bone saw, I forgot the name. Parasoul, who can basically super jump over it last time I heard, but I have to try that myself in training mode to see if thats true or not. Cerebella, if your able to use her Diamond Reflector at the right moment and can follow up quickly before Peacock gets out of stun. Fillia does pretty well too, especially when paired with Vallentine in a duo team. Otherwise, I honestly don’t know anyone else who can actually fight against that, especially with Double’s Hornet Bomber Hk assist which knocks the opponent fullscreen on hit or block and is invincible until she lands and finish the motion. Which then a smart Peacock is going to cover her with Argus Agony so she can have the assist ready to deploy again for later.
Maybe even Ms Fortune has a good chance so long as she can time her double jumps and fiber uppercut followed by another kick to take her into the air to follow with another jump to try and clear the hurdle of that team. The options are limited, but there is a way to beat it. I just haven’t figured it out yet. But we all have time, the game has only been out from Tuesday, Wednesday for others. Practically a week old, we just need more time to experiment with it and when I or someone else is able to figure out how to beat it then both Peacock and Double are going to get their shit pushed in, hard.
Ghostfreak has gone back to the skillful, masterful, tact and subtle ways of trolling. Appaluse for you, bro.
Oh wow did you come up with that all by yourself or did you have someone help come you up with that word Scrubdom? Lol, I can’t believe you, seriously? You should consider picking up a dictionary and showing where exactly can I find that word and I’m not the salty one you ass clown just because you choose to say stupid shit and I respond back to it. Why don’t you take that book and shove it so far down your ass that you can use the pages for teeth. FYI I am trying to get better at the game, in my own time and way. I’m a scrub because its my God given right to choose who to fight and not to fight? I’m a scrub because I choose against fighting a team I already know that I can’t beat now and because I choose to simply avoid it? Wow, you gotta a lot of balls to say something so stupid and arrogant that I have to question whether or not you can even smell the shit spewing out of your mouth. As I said already if your too color blind to read what my post has said or simply to inept, I’ll figure out a way to beat it eventually. Its gonna take time and effort but it can be down, so for now why don’t you take your advice and shove it, friend. I’m not going to let some online random on a forum dictate to me whether or not I should be happy to stay at the level I am at when I already know within myself I can do a hell of a lot better with time. All because of what? Because I gave an honest opinion? No, to hell with that and you.
