How different do chars play offline?

Yeah, the struggle is real. Guile is really tough because the recovery on his booms is just low enough that what will work against other zoning turtles (looking at you, Ryu and Nash) doesn’t or barely ever works against Guile.

A few things that might help on your Ken:

  1. If the opponent Laura keeps trying to DO stuff after a blocked LP elbow, just throw them. The throw beats literally anything they do, and if they jump, your throw recovery is low enough that you can block the jumpin.
  2. It’s actually really hard to do her closeup frametrap buttons (5MP, 2MP) into throw without walking forward a bunch of frames; yes, even the command throw whiffs. If she’s close up to you and keeps mashing + buttons and then throwing you, you should have enough space to either throw them first or jump. This is something to grind out in trainign mode probably.
  3. You can shoryu out of her pressure strings. If she does EX clap > Cthrow/other stuff, even though she’s +3, your shoryu-reppa will go right through it. This will still be true in S2.

I will say her and Ken’s throw mixups (and Ken’s runs) are probably made scarier by online than they already are.
