I have always pondered the fact why Chuck E. Cheeses does not provide fighting games at their restaurants. Whenever I go there, they always have the same games: Arctic Thunder, Brave Firefighters, that one railroad game, and a bunch of redemption games. I thought they would put more fighting games in due to the growing popularity of the genre over the past 2 years. This is the case no matter what Chuck E. Cheese I go to, the one in the hood or the one where everybody goes to.
That’s any arcade in places where there’s kids, like malls. A bunch of Sega token-suckers, and maybe a fucked-up fighter with controls that are broken, or the screen displaying faded color on 15% of the screen, and black, grey, white, and magenta on the rest.
Actually the past two near-physical altercations I’ve gotten into were at… Chuck E. Cheese. The last one was some niggas rollin’ up in there with NO KIDS mad at me for taking their parking spot. I was like, seriously? I’m here with my kids and you wanna keep it real? I’d much rather have Street Fighter in there and just RC all the potential below the belt shoryukens.
The devolution of Chuck E Cheese from being a gaming hotspot in the 80s to what it is now is interesting, but it is not discussion of a fighting game and doesn’t belong in Fighting Game Discussion.
