How come Daigo doesn't play Guilty Gear, KoF 13 or Blazblue?

AFAIK he still plays it at international tourneys. It’s just not that many majors have it in their lineup. He plays HDR if it’s there.

He’s always said that competition is one of his main reasons for playing a game. I believe this was his reason for playing MvC3 as well.

grandabx is, once again, trolling the shit out of you guys.

yeah thats why he played ST for 15 years

ITT: people who pretend they are best buddies with Daigo and knows what fighting games he plays.

he seems to prefer ground-based footsie games better, but then again he played VS hardcore and the fundamentals of that game aren’t really unlike kof besides safer offense

It’s because KoF doesn’t have footsies.

Hop, hop, hop, hop, hd cancel, hop, hop, hop, hop, hop, and hope something connects after launching a barrage of normals.

Lives in Japan->Says he plays for competition->Plays MVC3?!

I am almost very sure that i saw a video of him playing Breakers Revenge years ago on Nico Douga. It was funny but he was an average Sho player to say the least.

Really it’s because he’s a fan of Street Fighter been playing it as long as we have. I think at one point that’s all we really. But I think he was topping tournaments playing GG, but there’s was some gossip going around that he really couldn’t hang with GG because Kaqn who now play’s BB CS Extend (whose popular with Ragna) was kicking his ass in GG. But why play something else that’s making you rich?

dakou, xiaohai, RF etc. seem to have an awful good understanding of sf4 footsies after playing kof for years

I really hope it’s a joke post

It isn’t. He’s one of those guys that call people hipsters or elitist for mentioning non-Capcom games being good or for saying any of the 3 new Capcom fighters are bad.

Isn’t Daigo Like Mediocre or above average compare to other competition in japan? (maybe not SF)

GG,KoF,BB competition too strong for Daigo, so he goes and plays games like SF4.

Now they have that Tournament of Legends ST side-tourny at EVO and other big names who have been training recently have already confirmed. We shall see if he will try to face them, and, if so, how well he fares. He has entered foreign tournaments in recent years, and won them all, but he never plays ST tournaments in Japan. Unless none of them are streamed.

Those players also have years of FG experience under their belts. Once you attain a certain level of talent you can bring that to other fighters. Many 2d FG skills transfer between games.

This is incorrect. I don’t like Marvel at all. I do like the SF4 series and SFxT though. I don’t think KoF deserves all the respect it gets and all this talk about how it is “a real honest fighting game.” It’s way too subjective. A person could make that argument for nearly any game.

In anycase, the point is that KoF series doesn’t have as much emphasis on footsies as SF does. I’ve played the game and watch the tournaments whenever there is a stream. I;m not claiming to be an expert by any means, but it seems pretty clear after watching some high level play. If people prefer that, that is fine, more power to you. I don’t, I like games where footsies are important. It’s actually one of the reasons I like SFxT, losing the footsie battle means you eat a ton of damage.

The only thing that’s clear is your lack of understanding of what you are watching.

Every time a FG has more mobility than SF and characters take to the air more often it’s always called “Not having footsies.” Brilliant.

Graphf you’re succeeding really well at making yourself look like an idiot. Please cease your posting to avoid further humiliation.

Nice tutorial.
Here is a vid of a match.

Which shows what essentially every KoF match looks like. Rush in non-stop and hop a lot until you land a hit and then convert into a combo. Both players will continually do this until the match is over. I picked the first video I saw.

Rush in running no matter what is happening, hop A, hop A, hop special, convert into combo, once in corner continue hop pressure until you land another hit.

There is a clear lack of footsies in KoF. If you and others like it, then that is great, I am happy for you. I don’t.
