Man, i havent played this game since 2005 and yet my win/lose ration isnt too bad (17-5) i don’t expect it to last.
3 wins and 0 losses on XBL with Sean.
2 wins and 0 losses on PSN with Sean.
Using a pad too. I can’t use a stick on 3rd Strike.
22-2 Ken and 6-0 Alex with a 4% disconnect rate!
Im so bad. when I lose the game doesn’t say continue. It just tells me to stop playing and go shoot myself…
So why are you still here? Players like you who never listen will never get better…
Fucking hate this bug that causes the game to hang at the results screen. Wanted to save a decent replay but couldn’t because I had to do a hard reset.
That said, I think I’ve started to shake of the bad habits from SFIV and get back to form. At least enough that shoto using scrubs are starting to ragequit against me.
Still, some of my old sparring buddies, a bunch of guys from the local 3S scene from back, in the day might stop by over the weekend for some casuals.
This thread brings me back to when I first started playing. It’s adorable. Keep at it everyone. You’ll earn your stripes…after a couple of years.
Well I seem to have completely lost my Makoto combo game. I can manage kara->fierce xx EX hayate, so there’s that. I really just brutalize people with normals. On the plus side, I’m playing Makoto, so that seems to be working all right.
I did get utterly destroyed by a Yun, I think I only managed to land a lucky random SA2 the first round and a couple of jabs the second. Sent the guy an email asking if he knew a good way for Makoto to get out of the block pressure, and he sends me back a message saying he’s Japanese. All my Japanese let me manage was essentially “Your Yun is scary, thx for game”.
Not really what I wanted to say, but it’ll do.
seen some people getting their footage up, think it’s a good idea to show how much we are struggling
running into punches, not finishing combos, smh. Surprised I pulled it out somehow.

Thanks for the advice about the Trials.
I’m just terrible all around, just started playing fighting games seriously about 3 months ago.
Still need to get better with a stick, need to stop paniking when I’m getting handled.
I’ll upload some replays tonight after work and put them on here.
I’m doing surprisingly well on ranked and player matches. I even got a 10 win streak.
I lost to Gill in Arcade with Ryu 15 times in a row before I finally said fuck it. Does Ryu just really suck at that fight? I already beat it with Elena and Sean, and I didn’t pull my hair out NEARLY this much with either of them. Heck, I had fun doing it with them?
If Gill really is Jesus, then I can see why so many people wanted him dead.
There’s a reason why Gill isn’t usable in Ranked matches. He’s too OP. Either he’ll hit you with his super 2 for about 3/4 health or just keep the bar for a res. Also, his normals are gdlk.
I know, but hell, I used to play this game in the arcades and on the Dreamcast constantly. I don’t remember him being this hard. I also didn’t really have a hard time with him as Elena or Sean, but he felt downright impossible with Ryu.
One thing I found fairly amusing was that in one match, I actually managed to perfect him. After that, it’s like his switch was flipped and he just obliterated me.
Does he have freaking Vampire-style chain combos? I see him do cr.LK,MK,HK constantly - which wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t do 75% stun. That’s the worst part about him really - I could deal with the extreme damage and god-like super arts and resurrection if it weren’t for the 4-hit combos that can put you into a dizzy state.
I’d rather be fighting '96 Goenitz.
Street Fighter Ken, Ryu, Akuma & Chun Strike 3
I actually win 70% of my matches in ranked. That’s ok…considering I can’t perform Super/Hyper Moves on thr ight side by any means. Mashing, excecution, timing, luck. Left side? Flawless. Rightside? I will poke and combo the shit out of you. Everything else is good. Of course that was first day. This is slowly improving.
Hell, look at my videos in my sig. You’ll see.
I’ve also have only beaten the game once(arcade) with my main(ken).
I can’t bring myself to df df for DP anymore. I actually stopped that once MVC3 came out. Cuz I use Spider-Man so excecution is key. Now df df disgusts me. IT DISGUSTS ME! STOP IT!!!
Well I was gonna post something or make a thread about this soon since I figured people would be having trouble beating him. Gill is like a typical SNK style boss. If you don’t understand what to do he’s “hard to beat”, but just like a lot of SNK style bosses once you learn a certain attack or pattern that they can’t defend against you can pretty much just keep doing that same pattern until they die. Like here’s some quick “beat Gill on the first try” options I know for a few characters.
Ken: This has been around since the early 2,000 era GameFAQs days. Basically throw Gill or otherwise knock him down. Then just as he wakes up do HP shoryuken. For whatever reason Gill almost never blocks the HP shoryuken. Rinse repeat until he’s dead.
Ibuki: I discovered this myself a few months ago. Basically just keep doing HP kubi ori/neckbreaker (qcf+HP) until he’s dead. For whatever reason Gill will just either get hit by this everytime or will only punish it with something that does no damage like a c.L. The move also doesn’t build him much meter which allows you to kill him in the first round easy enough without worrying about ressurrection. It takes a bit longer to kill than Ken’s but it works.
Necro: Something I figured out a few years ago. There’s probably something else that’s less tedious, but basically if you force Gill to block a LP tornado hook (hcf+LP) you can just keep doing LP tornado hook over and over. Now all that’s really going to happen is that Gill will just keep blocking the LP tornado hook. Which means you’ll have to grind at his ass for a while with chip until he’s finally dead. The main thing is just you have an infinite block stun to guarantee a kill on him (eventually) since he will not stop blocking the tornado hook. I forgot if this works outside of the corner or not but I remember especially once I had him in the corner he just would not stop blocking this.
**I’ll have to ask around or try some other stuff to see what other “Kill Gill” strategies people have. It’s mainly just finding one random move in a situation that throws a wrench at the CPU AI. **
I didn’t wanna bring this info out too early cuz it’s kinda fun to see people struggle against him like “OMG SUPER POWER BOSS OF DOOM!!!” but it’s not really that big of a deal once you know the cheap wrench throw tactics. Now that I’m thinking about it I’m pretty sure Gill was part of Capcom’s inspiration for Phoenix in MVC3. I guess that’s also why I was completely stubborn and basically forced myself to learn anything I could to fight against Dark Phoenix cuz I was used to struggling against cheap characters in old games any ways. It was fun for me.
For anyone that doesn’t already know you can dash up and hit Gill with a fast attack (like an EX move) out of his resurrection animation. That way you only have to take off a 1/3 of his life instead of re-fight him.
The cheapest thing about playing Gill as a playable character is that he has normals with retarded hit box/properties that make even Chun Li’s seem rather fair. He has 100 percent stun combos that he can do from anywhere on the screen on any random hit (that basically lead to 100 percent TOD combos). Which means a Gill that knows combos can kill you the first time they hit you with a j.HK, or c.HP without using any meter at all. His throws also do 3 times the damage of a standard Ken or Ibuki throw. Meaning he only needs to throw you 2 or 3 times before you are bleeding like you got hit by a full combo into super.
Better watch out, Kuroda. It looks like a certain new Q player in the American scene is driving a truck through the top tiers.

That’s 2:09 of my life that is now gone, and I will never be able to get it back…I hope you are happy :crybaby:.
Don’t worry babe, with knockers like that you’ll be just fine in no time.
