i’m a noob into organizing RANBAT for SF4/3s . so how does it work ?
That thread is for tournament listings, not questions.
Ranbats are basically a point based ranking system.
its a weekly or biweekly tournament where a small chunk of the entry fee is set aside in a pot (say $5 entry fee = $4 for top 3 of the tournament + $1 for the pot)
the top 8 of each tournament are distributed points for their placing. at the of the ranbat (when it ends is up to you) the person with the most points accumulated wins the ranbat and as such takes home the pot.
think of a cup in mario kart where every racer put in money on every track and you get paid for winning the individual track as well as the cup as a whole.
ok you need a rep .
there are things or some part i don’t get it yet … what do you mean as the top 3 and top 8 .
ok here are the questions , omg this so fucking embarrassing lol .
ok , let say 10 over enthusiast signed up and paid the fee, so what the organizer should do after that ?
what happen if 1 of the player wins the match ?
if the losers ? they go to the losers bracket ?
so what is the max pts ?
does that mean that the player with the highest pt of the day get the pot immediately ?
ok i’m still thinking more , but basicly i want to know how to start and operate .
because SF4(or sf3) community in Indonesia is growing .
ok say if people paid the entry fee lets say for example $5 bucks what you do is take a small portion (we’ll say $1 here) from each entry fee and set that aside for the pot.
so if 16 people entered at $5 bucks a person you’ll have $64 bucks to split for the top three that night 70/20/10 and you’ll have $16 bucks for the pot.
next you take the top 8 (this is how ai does theirs, it replicates mario karts cup system) and give them points on their rankings.
1st = 8 points
2nd = 7 points
3rd = 6 points
4th = 5 points.
and so forth.
then at the next ranbat you repeat the process with a portion going to the tourney that night and a portion going to the pot. now you’ll repeat this process untill the end of the ranbat “season” when this season ends is up to you, you can make it 8 tourneys 5 10 whatever. well at the last ranbat, you calculate the points each player has accumilated through the season. and whoever has the most points wins the ranbat season and as such wins the pot.
as for brackets and all that theres hella information on that already
also
sf4…community???
Oh thanks for that, I am new to SRK so I shouldn’t be giving forum advice:confused:… But one thing I do have to ask, are you going to be recording the matches? Because I would love to see some new players play, since I do not know of 3s players from Indonesia!
sighh more like SF4 , they are still in a crawling stage in SF4 .
several months ago , there was a tournament some where in southern jakarta that i did not know off and they all play normally without utilizing FAs/FADCs .
FA/FADC is not banned , because they still don’t know a jack shit about FAs and FADC yet,
but they still play like any SF players :karate:
yep , i’m planning to get a cam soon , or maybe i get another guy to record it . I am still new to indonesian SF forums .
and most of the indonesian 3s players are in australia or singapore . 3s scene here in indonesia almost dead , because they have life to focus on .
jakarta life = :tdown:
Tbh, i’d recommend that you learn how to run a basic tournament first, before you start trying to hold ranbats. If you want a paper bracket to run your tourneys, use playpool.
http://playpool.com/downloads/
If you want a tournament organizer on your computer, try TIO or Challonge. Both are awesome, but challonge requires constant internet access.
Learn how to run brackets, call out matches, keep track of who is playing who, and learning how to update your bracket list. After that, you can see for yourself whether or not you want to run ranbats.
dude is probably like “finally, after 3 years, a new response!”
Totally didn’t see that it was posted 3 years ago. I just respond to threads that get bumped without looking T_T
