Is it comparable to MvC3?
Do you think there will be a rise in interest with CS2? Will it stay?
Not to be harsh, but the fact that you had to ask if ANY game that isn’t made by Capcom has a comparable scene to MvC3 (hell any game other than SF4) shows that you’re very new to the scene, not that that matters.
Especially when it comes to this site. There are no games outside of MvC3 and SF4 that have comparable scenes to those two games, and SF4’s is pretty meager right now although with AE coming I suspect it’ll surpass MvC3 quickly.
But anyways, on to BBCS. BB has probably the most active non-Capcom scene right now, but even then it’s relatively small, and as far as finding a local scene goes if you aren’t from Socal or NY you’re gonna really struggle to find a decent group of players to play with.
BUT, CS2 I suspect will make the game very active again, at least for a few months, and with the added depth and better balance and character variety it’s offering I suspect more people will stick around this time.
Now this isn’t to say the game isn’t worth buying, I play it all the time, online and off, and I love it. It’s just you can’t expect it to be anywhere near a Capcom game popularity-wise.
Also, dustloop.com is where you need to go to find the real BB scene.
Tekken? Unless you mean US-only. I don’t know anything about the US.
With CS2 just coming out a few days ago, I have to say online has been jumping and even in my local area they’re thinking about putting it back on the list of games to play on a weekly basis(until they get bored of it or something idk)
I haven’t had any trouble finding people online. Both new and experienced players.
Most of what sektr said. But yeah, CS2 seems to be doing pretty well online(from what my friends have told me).
I don’t hear too much about it offline. Around here I mean.
It’s decent enough. There are still plenty of tournies being held for it as well. Game is by no means dead or TVC status.
Scene is not too bad. Not MvC/SF status but there’s tons of players.
Rise of interest with CS2, meh. People who didn’t like it aren’t gonna suddenly like it because of balance changes, and people who like it are still gonna play it. It will revitalize the scene for a little while for people who didn’t play it cause it wasn’t balanced enough/their character was too bad
Hopefully we’ll see an even bigger jump in interest once Revelations begins. Aksys is trying really hard to promote both Blazblue and Arcana Heart 3 at the tournament, and I wish them good fortune. I’ll be sure to show my support!
