I wrote a blog entry concerning Monday’s episode. Spoilers, if you haven’t seen it.
heh yeah house giving the gun back was all kinds of ridiculous.
hasn’t it been confirmed that house fucked cuddy a long time ago or something? if so, they’re really dragging this shit out irl he’d have been laying some cripple pipe for a season or 2 already.
That episode with the hostage situation I think was by and far the worst House episode I could think of throughout all the seasons. Loads of draggy scenes, a relatively far fetched scenario, and of course the gun giving bit.
goodmourning, humourous post. Good stuff.
seriously, lol. I haven’t seen this entire season of house yet and every person I come across with mentions what happened to kumar.
Lol, it was all over the evening news. If you didnt want to hear about it, you probably should have cut out your eyes and cut off your ears.
As Galatic said, the House formula breaks the viewer out of the sense of disbelief. That is what I’ve been citing all along, except more related to the dialouge. In either case, any show requires a sense of disbelief and if you break it-- then there IS no show.
House is apparently well past any “prime” it might have had (guess I’m glad I never watched the episode where he gives the gun back). So, so many better shows than this. American Idol is better.
You’re trying too hard.
he’s been trying too hard since he felt the need to call the girl who’s only slept with one guy throughout 5 seasons a slut lol
Heh.
Heh!
Before I was able to watch House (i usually wait a couple days),Yahoo graciously spoiled the episode the next day and plastered all over their homepage. I learned a long time ago to use google search as my homepage. The day my pc wigged out on me was the day after the episode aired. Fine, whatever, i still need to use the PC though. The, i was using someone else PC who has it set as thier homepage, i fire up Safari, and bam, “KUTNER IS GOING TO WASHINGTON!!!” “huh…? wait… what the fu…” I looked at my friend and I wanted to punch him hard.
Anyway… I caught it today, and I cried. I love House, and Kutner was a favorite character of mine next to Remy, and Kutner actually solved a juicy case the week before, so this came as a total shock to me. I was pissed at the violent death, Depressed by the desaturated palette swap during the rest of the episode (great job on the cinematography), and a combination of angry/sad/happy during the closing scenes. I’ve had someone close commit suicide in that manner and lived a similar happy life as Kutner up until it happened, so it drudged up old memories, and i couldn’t help myself. The writers captured the events of the tragedy well and it didn’t come off as artificial or unthoughtful.
I can accept Kutner’s death after reading this interview: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/house-exclusive.html
The case was also pretty complex, too. Is it me or all the cases that have been, at least this season, on House are people with skeletons in their closet (lies) and that’s what ultimately gets them into this mess?
Oh yeah, the last scene with Taub breaking down killed me, too. I mean, seriously, the nicest guy in the world who basically saves your bacon and your job, then the next moment he’s gone via suicide? It’s alot to handle, and i’m glad they didn’t make him out to be a numb guy.
I’ll miss you, Kutner.
Isn’t lying/erronous information a theme in House concerning the cases? I thought it’s always been that way.
And sorry to hear you were super spoiled. I was spoiled here when I logged on and saw someone with the RIP Kuttner avatar.
Shit I saw that AV to. I was pissed. It didn;t spoil me but i knew it would spoil someone. I was going to yell at him but i got distracted here in the real world and forgot.
WTF two week break? And what the fuck at ending!
I gotta say, I feel you guys on spoilers and how stupid people are about that- for that reason, I try to decide if I want to see some movie without watching so much of its trailer or reading the back of a dvd case description blurb. In Japan when they show movies on TV, when they cut to commercial, they’ll show a little bit of later scenes sometimes and give away too much info just in that alone.
That “patients lie” has definitely been a recurrent theme in past seasons (in particular the one where pamela lee guest starred when he was reluctantly lecturing a class).
btw Monk is a pretty good show too, I’d have to rate it above House. American Idol is really just democracy at work recreating the music industry, in a class all by itself. Monk has a main character similar to House, except without all the being an asshole and getting away with it part. People die, but he cares. He is still a social outcast. It doesn’t take away his genius abilities just because he cares. There are sometimes some technical goofs (even in the end credits scene of one season where he runs a football) but House has its own share of those as well. When I first saw Monk, I thought it would suck but it’s actually pretty good, it works. It really approaches the level of the venerable Gilligan’s Island-- something few shows can achieve.
this is probably old news, and sort of a spoiler but just wanted to know what people thought (with spoiler tags though i guess)
this seasons events announced
Excellent, excellent episode. Life goes on after Kutners death: a marriage ends, a marriage begins, best friends bond closer together, a doubting doctor gets his mojo back. Wilson has elevated himself to God tier status. House: “… you manipulative bitch.” hahaha, damn. I can see now how essential it was for Kutner to die, especially in one of the last scenes where they could not come up with any solutions. The case was pretty interesting, too. Compromise your morals (the manufactured rose), and you end up paying for it in the most ironic, enteraining way.
<3 House. I wanna make a wilson av.
damn. i shouldn’t have clicked that link.
Great ep last night.
Cameronnnnnnnn
One of the funnier episodes this season indeed.
Poor Wilson.
