House M.D. Thread

Cuddy cut him loose.
It was made apparent that he cared nothing for the hospital, he just wanted control.
Got to the point where his money in the hospital wasn’t good enough, if he just wanted to screw over the people that actually “make” the hospital.

Dag man, why are you naysaying? Trying to inadvertently bring forth posts about people not liking the show in this thread?

I don’t think anybody in here needs that. Atleast i don’t.

Can’t you just peace out with it?

actually, I was trying to get some responses as to what’s supposed be so good about this show. Cause I don’t see it.

If I wanted to poop on the show, I would have been a little more insulting :razzy:

Oh snap, Devil’s Advocate.

Uhm let’s see. You like Pulp Fiction? Particularly the dialogue back and forths from the likes of Vincent Vega and Jules Winfield?

It’s sort of like a discussion on trivial things that actually hold a bigger metaphorical meaning. While trying to save people’s lives in the emergency room. The dialogue in House is very good in the fact that they pretty much 1up each other back and forth. It’s the first medical show i’ve ever watched and enjoyed. Everyone on the show is likeable by what they bring to the table. House is the cynical guy that knows his work completely. He has 3 assistants who are coming of their own in terms of their careers.

Foreman - He’s kind of bullheaded like House, that’s what House likes about him though. Foreman can get the job done.

Chase - He’s that guy that will follow House’s orders, and is a workhorse. He seems to fit in anywhere.

Cameron - She pretty much brings the interpersonal side to the patients because House usually doesn’t like to talk to his patients. To House, they’re just a “Medical Case”

House sort of teaches them lessons in the way he knows how, by being an asshole about it. Most of the episodes you really get to understand House’s angle and why he goes about things the way he does. Not only does he help his assistants out, but they also help HIM too. House and his best friend Wilson are pretty much on the same level. Wilson is like House’s contrast and complement. Then there’s Cuddy, who runs the hospital, she sort of works like a Wilson-lite but what she lacks as far as Wilson is concerned, she makes up for it because she can controls everything she makes the final choices, running the hospital and all.

Most of the time House is trying to convince Cuddy to do some pretty outlandish and unethical things in order to save lives. Like bumping a patient up on heart transplant lists without proper medical evidence, just “hunches.” And House does some pretty unethical shit. One episode he looks through his patient’s vagina pubes in order to find a tic that was the source of her illness, running on a “hunch” though.

Bottom Line: House M.D. is like a CSI: Hospital

How’s that? Damn, i really didn’t expect some DA shit up in this thread. I just really enjoy the show, i didn’t want to defend it but it was fun to. I went all over the place in my post though, hope it’s not confusing.

Someone needs to make an YTMND of that.

“House has a way with the ladies.”

hmmm…I think you hit the nail on the head there.

You’re right, the show feels kind of “CSI-ish”. Except I can’t stand CSI, which might explain why I don’t like House either.

I’m sure they are both good series, they just don’t appeal to me in the slightest.

Come to think of it, I don’t like most shows that are on TV these days.

Explaining why a TV show is appealing/good is like tryin to explain to someone why a tomato is good. You can make a list of things it does ‘well’ but that won’t really matter because descriptions don’t convey the whole experience.

What I find entertaining about the show is House himself, I like his character, I like the dialogue and how he handles people. I also like his intelligence-factor, hes very logical, plus hes an atheist lol
I get his sense of humour, but I can see why some people don’t.

Danny Crane.

CSI: Hospital sounds about right. And this is a bump while I wait for the second part of Euphoria to finish…um…“broadcasting.” Yeah.

god damn tonights season finale…crazy.

I really don’t agree with CSI: Hospital. In CSI, the dialogue is nowhere near the level of House. I like both shows, but in House, the dialogue just comes off as so much smarter and wittier. CSI dialogue is mostly cheesy.

I’m gonna be at school so I can’t watch it. Somebody give me a recap, you can PM it if you don’t want to put spoilers in the thread.

Jesus christ that was a fucked up episode, some of the things that happened are just wow.

I only saw 2 eps: the ones about the cop and black surgeon getting ninja-style naegleria. What happened to the black guy in the following eps after the second ep’s ending revealed he was being cured, but was partially fucked up by the biopsy?

ya know this is the only episode where i felt the disclaimer was working overtime.

Isn’t this a two-part finale, or are we not going to get resolution until next season?

You’re not going to see the bloody conclusion until Fall.

To be honest I literally breathed a sigh of relief when the massacred bloated tongue/ball busting patient dropped the shell, because then I realized that everything was a hallucination.

So what actually happened? Sounds like some crazy shit went down…

that was insane when the guys nut exploded

I was laughing when his eye started oozing and finally popped out, oh man. Shades of Big Trouble in Little China right there.

Rhio, nothing really; Epps just had some lucid “I’m happy and complacent” kind of thing going on, minorly struggling w/certain things in terms of memory and what not, but that’s it. House got mad cos all he’d do is agree rather than be himself. All w/in a “2 week period” since his accident and the episode after.

I feel like throwing up.

Good Lord.
