Oh snap, Devil’s Advocate.
Uhm let’s see. You like Pulp Fiction? Particularly the dialogue back and forths from the likes of Vincent Vega and Jules Winfield?
It’s sort of like a discussion on trivial things that actually hold a bigger metaphorical meaning. While trying to save people’s lives in the emergency room. The dialogue in House is very good in the fact that they pretty much 1up each other back and forth. It’s the first medical show i’ve ever watched and enjoyed. Everyone on the show is likeable by what they bring to the table. House is the cynical guy that knows his work completely. He has 3 assistants who are coming of their own in terms of their careers.
Foreman - He’s kind of bullheaded like House, that’s what House likes about him though. Foreman can get the job done.
Chase - He’s that guy that will follow House’s orders, and is a workhorse. He seems to fit in anywhere.
Cameron - She pretty much brings the interpersonal side to the patients because House usually doesn’t like to talk to his patients. To House, they’re just a “Medical Case”
House sort of teaches them lessons in the way he knows how, by being an asshole about it. Most of the episodes you really get to understand House’s angle and why he goes about things the way he does. Not only does he help his assistants out, but they also help HIM too. House and his best friend Wilson are pretty much on the same level. Wilson is like House’s contrast and complement. Then there’s Cuddy, who runs the hospital, she sort of works like a Wilson-lite but what she lacks as far as Wilson is concerned, she makes up for it because she can controls everything she makes the final choices, running the hospital and all.
Most of the time House is trying to convince Cuddy to do some pretty outlandish and unethical things in order to save lives. Like bumping a patient up on heart transplant lists without proper medical evidence, just “hunches.” And House does some pretty unethical shit. One episode he looks through his patient’s vagina pubes in order to find a tic that was the source of her illness, running on a “hunch” though.
Bottom Line: House M.D. is like a CSI: Hospital
How’s that? Damn, i really didn’t expect some DA shit up in this thread. I just really enjoy the show, i didn’t want to defend it but it was fun to. I went all over the place in my post though, hope it’s not confusing.
