I’m talking to a person right now and he says that he played skullgirls and he says that the game is too slow. I’m trying to convince him otherwise. I dont think that he has ever actually seen any high level footage of the game so he immediately assumes something off of one game he played. Maybe I can convince him otherwise?

edit:He doesnt seem to have given the game a fair chance and it doesnt look like he wants to. I really wish more people would be interested in the game.

Well he might just not like slower games, it’s not supposed to be super fast, like Vampire Savior or Marvel 3. If he doesn’t like the speed of the game that’s a legitimate reason to not play. However, it is pretty sad that he decided that after 1 game…

I know a lot of people think it’s an insignificant detail, but I think it’s really awesome how any match with a team of people is only one round, but 1v1 matches are best of 3. It’s a small thing, but I really like it

Not necessarily. Sg might not be as flashy as Mvc3, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be as fast or faster.

So fool when people assume a game is slow without playing it.

Mvc1 trilogy, and Msh look pretty slow when you look at them. But they are amazingly fast when you see real man play of them. Speed isn’t determined by how fast dashes ram you across the screen or how many bullshit teleports you have. Nor is it determined by how fast you can cancel moves. It’s determined by things like block stun, game flow, the amount of input required, and most importantly, the frequency which the game thrusts choices upon you. I believe that Vampire Savior is one of the fastest fighting games ever made NOT because it has air dashes, but because there is a multitude of branching paths for every action you can take in the game. Even if you just make your opponent block something as simple as a poke, you basicly have 5 or 6 different options you can follow that up with, for offense or defense.

Long story short, tell your friend to play before he thinks anything is slow.

Ps: You could also mention that everybody who’s played the game so far says the pacing is perfect.

Hearing about how many views SG stuff is getting all over the web and all the coverage its getting, I really do think the scene is gonna explode when the game comes out. I’m not worried about Mr. Marvel not wanting to play something where you can’t jump 100 feet in the air and travel across the screen in 0.3 seconds.

What’s really great is it seems like it’s pulling in a good number of new people too, so streams will get lots of views from people trying to improve

IMO, more fighting gamers should do what a lot of Starcraft players do, in streaming their practice sessions. If master chibi or anyone else who’s at the top of the food chain did so, I would be a permanent viewer ^^

They actually do this alot. I know Filipino Champ, Combofiend, Juicebox, and Marn stream regularly. I’m sure someone will stream Skullgirls. peaceful Jay is going to stream Skullgirls and thats a large step since alot of people watch Peaceful Jay’s stream
