Thought there’d be slightly more discussion about this – early this morning the Skullgirls website went international…

There has been a great deal of discussion among the Japanese fans, in particular. Here’s one comment I’ve translated from 2ch:
“To be honest, I’ve been more enthused about finally learning more about the game’s world than I am about the characters. There are a few things that seem questionable – like is Dr. Avian a doctor doctor (医師/ishi) or a professor doctor (博士/hakushi)? – but other than that I like the translations.”

I also noticed someone on 2ch actually using the 4chan style of quoting to point out stuff he thought was bizarre. It literally went like this:

Ever thought about a tournament feature: auto-save replay? Would be a lot better than a guy standing around the tournament setups telling people to save replays, and then having a player ask him questions and missing replays.

Why waste a good opportunity to promote the game ? I’m also sure there’s plenty of people who also just turned the stream off because of the horrible commentary. Once again the game isn’t even out yet and everything they’re doing is an attempt to promote and show case the game. The commentary could of been better. Instead we get Pokemon snap and fanatiq promote his facebook and twitter. I have no problem with chill commentary however, can the game get released first ? The game hasn’t sold yet and if anyone gave that stream a passing glance last night they probably turned it off instantly because of the commentary.

Fanatiq was great on the mic and he only really talked about pokemon snap when there was down time. He even said himself he didn’t have much time with the game yet he was willing to answer all questions via facebook. Plus if you was in the stream if anybody was turned off it was because of the crazy ass stream monsters then the off topic banter. Also if somebody just dismissed an unfinished game because of that they’re a fool.

There’d be a number of features that would be great for a tournament mode, such as automatically bringing up the char select button config and resetting the win counter whenever a new stick is plugged in… If KOFXIII is anything to go by, you’re really going to have to force people to get used to char select button config.

Tumblr “ask” blogs are all fan-run. Nothing is really canon and it’s just people enjoying the characters and having fun with the personalities Also, I highly enjoyed the Fortune and Peacock ones, most likely going to be keeping my eye on both (because I don’t “follow” anybody since I don’t HAVE a tumblr. I just bookmark the few I like.)

Also, wow, you guys flock to my silly Skullgirls stuff faster than I anticipated o_O makes note to make more Skullgirls videos in the future
