After 9/11 it was interesting to see the worst of the US in action, lots of Muslim women were raped, random innocent Muslim boys beaten, and even little boys and girls 4 years old were given death threats. And then of course the government at the head of it all, with its torture and spying policies.
I wonder how many terrorists those actions inspired. The 5-10 year olds back then, after 2001, now they’re going to be young people in their 20s in their physical primes. And what do we see now? An uptick in terrorist activities and ISIS recruiting from an apparent real base.
Hate begets hate. Interestingly enough in that article, those are the types of activities that would stop that type of process.
But you guys know me and my view on humanity. There is far more hate around, and I expect more evil and then the counter-reaction and then armies to form and violence to be waged. Because that is all humanity is, angry, insecure, evil and stupidity gathering and then bashing against each other until one side can gain supremacy by slaughtering the other.
I think everyone is better off just preparing for more violence instead, and accepting it into their lives. Let us hate each other and find excuses to create large armies to kill each other with. It is better to be close minded bigots and create more close minded bigots on the other side than to have a society of love and peace.
Muslims are just as cruel to other Muslims, be it different sects of faith, or apostates. By framing it all as a “natural reaction” to the US, or global politics, or “muh western colonialism” you silence all these victims and ignore the root cause of the problem, which is religion in itself. Critical thinking being forbidden + The assumption of moral high ground that “allows” you to do atrocities in the name of the “greater good”. (Which also covers “state religions” i.e. totalitarian regimes, where the state and the ruler play the roles of religion and god.)
If you are not allowed to criticize something (and religious rules are not up for being inspected and challenged like science is for example), that something is the problem.
Its the white mans fault at the end of the day. Humanities last great hero, Hitler had a dream of a secular world with all the evils of religious and racial impurity stamped out where he could lead us in a perfect world where we would have already ruled the stars under 1 grand and ideologically perfect government that rewarded meritocracy and purity of heart.
