I posted this on the SSFIV forums but i thinnk it was not the right place so im posting it here.
So today i came back from the gym and decided to play some online SSFIV, i was going to play cody only, and my first match was against a Ken, i though whoaaaaa didnt expect it!!, i got my butt kicked.
after that i got a really nice vega, i had to rely only in throws and some H.Ruffian kicks, he also owned me but not without sending me a message calling me a noob for grabbing too much. next was a ryu, ass kicked, then zangief, ass kicked.
But the one that frustrated me the most was against an El Fuerte and i need some serious tips on this, how can i break free from this tricky move:
-El fuerte knocks you down
-El fuertes habanero dashes and randomly does: tortilla, tostada press, dash attack(that low one). i got trapped there i couldn’t do anything i tried blocking got grabbed then though ok hes gonna grab me, got pressed, then ok hes gona slide ill try and jump away got pressed, couldnt do anything.
I had 10 matches and lost 7, wtf it was a horrible night. also i cant seem to get any combos with cody done properly online, but i have no problem doing them against friends or the AI in the hardest difficulty. Any tips to improve my skill against situations like these please?
P.S: All these people had 4000+ PP and BP for their characters, i only have 1500-1600 for M.Bison and Cody. My PP Dropped from 1700 to 1450…
This has been said many times before but you can only help yourself nobody can give you tips as everyone has different play styles.
You just got to practice practice practice.
Although with elf i think you can focus attack his splash not to sure though as i dont see many people use him plus i use ibuki and she has an easy escape for me to use.
You should post this in the cody forums as there will be like minded people you can ask.
Same for me, in training mode I can pull off C.lp c.lp C.mp xx CU with high success rate, but sometimes online I would whiff and miss time the C.mp. Cody’s wake up game really pisses me off too, so far I’ve only been playing endless battles cause I want to start rank matches until I absolute get pro at this game. Back in street fighter 4 I had around 1000+ but not over 2000 BP, so I wasn’t great at the game. Now that I’m bored with MW2, I’m actually spending time on ssf4 to improve my game.
For the El fuerte situation, have you tried Ex bingo? My usual choices for wake up are either just block, jab, throw, ex.bingo or sometimes ex CU, or c.mk to slide past their jump ins.
You fail less vs friend or the AI because you have less pressure.Don’t stress yourself too much when you play online. It’s different than hitting a dummy .Also the fuerte vortex … Yeah …ItZ’s can be painful for anyone(Just like playing against the Gief or a good Gouki player) … Sadly in SSFIV there’s still something called guessing(SF3 third strike was the king of guessing) . So we can give you tip and tip and tips but at some point you need to guess. The Fuerte beat you here because he outguessed you.If you’re stuck into a vortex don’t lose your cool . When you panic or stress because you can’t get out after 2-3 time you have lost the match.Because your opponent outwilled you.
You know everyone can give you tip and tip but you need to improve by yourself. Also even if Justin Wong told you it’s possible to become the best . There’s always something called talent and skill that you can’t learn.Play for fun and continue to improve and practice.yeah don’t forget that.Play for fun first … You’rew playing a videogame for fun … Sure the competition can get intense. But it’s still just for fun.Your life ain’t on the line.
and and dit
Don’t forget that other player want to win also.
You won’t always win
