Horrible performance on my game - is this normal?

Steam Sales, so I decide to pick up SFV and see whether it’s for me and before I can really get anywhere, I am aware of the absolutely horrible performance I am getting. Screen slowdown, rough edges to most things (probably due to anti-aliasing) and well, it’s just bad. Unplayably bad.

I am wondering whether these issues are normal or it’s just that my rig is subpar. It’s a gaming laptop that I bought a couple of years ago, and it runs FF14 at almost max settings (if that is any indication) I am not sure why I am experiencing such a drop in performance, unless of course SFV is very system-intensive.

Here are some of my settings so you can see what I’m gaming with :

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 14393)
System Manufacturer: Notebook
System Model: N15_17RD
BIOS: 1.05.05
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8106MB RAM
Page File: 5878MB used, 3507MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 120 DPI (125 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: UnKnown
Miracast: Available, with HDCP
Microsoft Graphics Hybrid: Supported
DxDiag Version: 10.00.14393.0000 64bit Unicode

Card name: Intel® HD Graphics 530

Are there any tweaks I can use to get things to run more smoothly? If not, I’m probably just going to return the game - it’s unplayable in its current state.

You only have intel integrated graphics? Those are very weak compared to deticated gpu’s im affraid.
You really shouldve checked the minimum specs and some benchmarks of the hd 530. Probably best to get a refund unless youre planning to get a desktop pc in the future.

Edit: actually, i looked up your laptop and it turns out it does have a deticated gpu. A 960m geforce witch should be sufficient to run the game at max settings at 1080p.
Possibly its dissabled and using the intel graphics.

Try updating your nvidea drivers

Thanks for the assist! Turned out it was an Nvidia issue. Did some updating here and there and got it to work. Now I have a new problem though…sigh…
