The Vewlix is beautiful, but is a little heavy on the right side with wasted space. I’m eying that HRAP V… hope there’s a 360 version, but I’m not holding my breath.
EDIT: I’m now holding my breath. I swear that’s a headset jack on the front and the guide/home button up close is split into 4 quadrants 360-style.

I keep going back and forth on the 8 button layout of the V3 (and VX). I realize i rarely use the 2 rightmost buttons, but I enjoy having them there. I especially don’t want to pay more for fewer buttons.
I do like the look of the RAP V though.
The Vewlix stick looks amazing.
I just hope they use the HRAP V positioning of the turbo switches for the final design, because there’s no reason to have all that space on the right just for turbo switches. The stick and buttons need to be more centered.

Same here man but the HRAP V is so sexy that it will still look nice with some button plugs.
If they’re well aware of the MadCatz sticks, they probably made their HFSVX/V3 sticks easily moddable, which is great.
I wonder how much the hrapV and the vewlix sticks will retail for.
I hope they use the HRAPV positioning too, it just doesn’t make any sense to me why they’ve designed it like that. :S :S
at least have the turbo at the top left of the control panel and center the stick more
Am I the only one who isn’t digging the uneven placement of the Vewlix? It looks beautiful, but looks unwieldy and a little too wide. All the extra space to the right will limit my ability to sit on the right side of my couch next to the arm rest, and might not fit in my office chair with arm rests in front of the computer.
Chop it off between the start and the turbo please.
No kidding. It took stick makers how long to realize that it looks a million times better stuffing the turbo crap somewhere other than on the cp.

Sucks but I bet the RAP V for the 360 is going to have the ugly green, red, blue, and yellow button scheme
Hrap V is ugly : no space for the hand, you can almost put your coffee cup on the left with so much space, so they should put a small hole for stabilizing it, the man that choose putting the start button here should be thrown in tokyo bay, even home made sticks does not have such an horrible positionning. The layout stolen from the TE sucks.
What is really sad is that we had two “schools” of stick makers with Hori and Madcatz, one being very japanese, the other one american, and you could choose the oe you wanted. With this HRAP V both HRAP and TE will look the same and the choice will be reduced.
So redesign the HRAP YES !

Well, technically both are based on Taito’s Vewlix. Hori’s design is actually closer to the original Vewlix layout, including the position of the Start button. Actually, while I criticized it earlier, I realized that whenever I do play at the arcade (which is on a weekly basis), the start button on other cabs is in a similar location as well and I never hit those on accident so it’s probably not that bad a position for anyone used to it. The only valid criticisms IMO are the large area on the left of the stick which seems wasted and the seeming lack of space for our palms.
Anyone feel like explaining where all these no space for hand comments are coming from? The thing is basically a vewlix cp.

Well if they actually want our feedback…
- The control panels with switches are absolutely hideous! Go with the HRAP3 style control panels and shove them on the back or something. At the very least make them VERTICAL so you aren’t extending the size of the stick comically in one direction.
- For once make a stick that COMES with Plexiglass. People will be all over that.
- Make the V3 easy to mod like the Madcatz SE.
- More hand room. People play with these things on their laps. Not just on tables or floors. Also, Americans have big hands.
People rest their hands different standing at a cab vs. with the stick in their lap.
