Hori Tekken 6 Wireless JLF Install Mod/Guide (Pics!)

Well, I finally finished modding this thing!

A couple of notes on the mod:
When you are wiring up the JLF, I’ve seen multiple people talking about breaking the traces on the switch pcb and soldering to the switch posts. This isn’t necessary. If you look closely at the main pcb, though the stick switches each have their own ground wire, the ground traces all connect to the same ground plane on the board. So, you can simply solder those four wires together and connect to the ground wire on the JLF wiring harness. No modification to the JLF pcb required.
Secondly, I’ve seen a lot of talk about using the Hori shaft in the JLF. I tried this, using the Hori spring cover, actuator and spring. The length of the hori shaft between the pivot and the clip just isn’t long enough. Everything bunches together and you get the “artificial circle gate” effect. I tried different combinations of parts but nothing solved the problem. I’ve never seen a direct comparison of the T6 shaft and the FS3 shaft, so it the FS shaft is longer at that point this idea may be a holdover from those mods.
Now that I have the whole thing together, I’m very happy with it. The extra height on the shaft isn’t too drastic. I may add a plexi cover later to correct the spacing a little, but that’s optional for me right now. I’m going to add more weight (already got some pennies in those two empty cylinders) but with foam shelf-liner covering the whole bottom, it’s stuck to the table like glue. I don’t know how much the extra weight will help lap-play as that seems more an issue of size now.

Enkidomark>> GREAT JOB! The art/button setup you chose really looks good. I game back to grab a picture because I am selling it now. I picked up a MVC TE and it’s perfect to me with the sanwa’s, the size, the weight, everything.

just to answer my own post, yes, it’s possible I did a LS-32mod (+SE clear buttons) but it was really a pain in the ass and I guess not really worth the time and money for most ppl (but with the Leo v2 now I have a nice wireless dual modded stick ^^ (360+PS3 sixaxis), with 2batteries charging via Neutrik USB, which is nice for PS3/Go/Vita support… I could add Wii with a spare TvC pcb lying around too though)

can you kinda fill me in on the wires you used for the buttons i am trying to do the same thing but i am a noob

Standard 22-24 AWG Stranded.

cool do you know where to get some of that or maybe how much of it i would need and do the little metal ends come with it ?

Depends on how you much want to use.

The Quick Disconnect, you have to buy separately.
.110" is the ones needed.

You will also need a Crimper to crimp the Quick Disconnect onto wire.

am i looking for hook-up wire then crimp the quick disconnect to them i am looking on lizard lick for the parts

Yes.

you have been a really big help thanks alot so i need 2 quick disconnect per button and two hook-up wires per button

That is right.

You want to order more Quick Disconnect than needed.
Because not everyone can crimp them correctly the first time.

i know i am asking alot and you have been real great i am going to get like 2 feet if wire and like 20 QDS do you know a link that show me were to connect two on the board

well really good tutorial… I just wanna ask a basic question that can i use Myongshin stick in hori real arcade pro 3 ??? i will be waiting for answer

yes

Can i ask that this joystick (Sanwa JLF-TM-8T-SK Joystick) good for stock joy replacement?
I ve seen lot of people use TP-8YT joystick. This joy has circle ground, isnt it? 5 wire type. (4 for direction and 1 for the all ground)
Thank you!

For the TM, you’ll need to daisy chain the ground to the microswitches.

Also, the term you are looking for is common ground.

Thank you very much. My english is basic, i dont know these words, but thanks again!
So, the TM is compatible too as the TP?

TM will work. It’s areguably the better choice since you don’t need to redo the wiring to fit in the 5-pin connector.

OK! Thanks for help!
Have a nice day!

All right. I am going to buy a TM type. Thanks!
