Hori Tekken 6 Wireless Fightstick modding (Serious Thread)

Has anyone been able to mod this thing to also become rechargeable via USB?

Not me. I’m sure some of the guys on here could do it, but I wouldn’t even if I could. Mine doesn’t like to shut down on it’s own, so I have to pull a battery to shut it off when I’m using it on the PC, so an internal, rechargable battery wouldn’t work so well unless I worked in some kind of switch momentarily disconnect. Too much trouble when batteries cost 25c each. I’d be interested to see if someone’s done it, though.

I’m thinking about modding my arcade stick, I just want to change my buttons to better ones and change the gate to an octagon. The parts I was think about using were:

Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate for JLF Joysticks
6 pc Set of White Sanwa Push Buttons OBSF-30-W

Will these work with the tekken 6 stick or will I need more things. Also how will go about doing this. I’m sorry this is my first time.

This thread will tell you everything you need to know about modding this stick. I’d advise screw-in buttons. The fit’s kinda tight but you don’t have to worry about whether the panel is too thin for the snap-ins to fit securely. If you want to learn how to work on sticks, you bought the right one, because you’re going to know a lot by the time you make a good one out of the T6. I love mine, though. Good luck!

screw in buttons are a no go

There would most likely be no space for the screws (unless they’re seimitsu) to fit in properly as the raised plastic lip would probably get in the way.
I know that’s the case for the EX2

You can always increase the diameter of the hole when you get rid of the tabs

I’ve got the screw-in sanwa 30mms in mine and they are definitely a tight fit. One of them even seems a tad bit warped because of the lack of space. I have considered dremeling away the plastic lip surrounding the buttons to alleviate the problem.
So, in summation, the screw-ins will fit. But just barely.

are screw-in buttons better?

I should have specified that I have seimitsu buttons in mine. I’ve never had sanwa screw-ins, so I forget they might be different. Mine fit great, though the lip makes tightening a little hard. I actually messed up a little dremmeling out the holes and got a couple too wide. I think the screw-nuts help keep them from being too close now.

hey i am so new at this modding thing i have the t6 stick for xbox i was doing all the modding right but i messed up and fucked the pcb can someone tell me about the wires you would need i seen alot of people saying you dont need the pcb but i just dont get it

the hole pcb on the t6 fucked me up i did the button mod fine but trying to make the holes bigger on the pcb one of the tabs snap off i am stuck and not sure what to do i know i put the buttons in right so can somebody just help me i would really appreciate any help

You can solder the Button Microswitch directly to the Traces of the tab that broke off.

not sure how to do that at this point having the pcb feels like it would mess me up for future mods

Hello Fellow Hori Tekken 6 modders,
I got this stick one Year ago and much fun with it. Then bought a TE very cheap and forgot about it. Now I want to start modding it.
I have expirience with alot of technicals repairs but this is my first Stick modding, so please help me a bit for a good result. And please bare my questions

Now my plan is:
-Change the whole Box
-Own artwork
-Change Buttons
-Dualmod for Xbox360 (i got the Ps3 version)
-Batteryout, I got a broken Ps3 pad and I wanted to use this powersource, also Usb port for charging and playing.
-Maybe chang the Stick

What do I need for a dual modd?

I’m in the same boat, I was thinking of using the toodles axisadapter, which should give you the rechargeable ability using usb, and the li-ion from the sixaxis pad. After that, I’ve been stuck, and haven’t started to mod it without a gameplan. I’ve got this stick, and the MadCatz SE, both for PS3, not realizing that I may want to give the xbox some love every once in a while. Another option was to use a cthulu board, which opens up some other compatibilty, xbox 1 and dreamcast too, I think.

hey havn’t checked here for a while, I am going at it again since two days and its going very well. I am using the ps3 dualshock PCB and its li-ion. I call it “project tri-force” because I am using the 2 analog sticks, that makes 3
The wirering will be a little bit more difficult, to replicate the controller sheet and its properties but I got my Electro Wizard guiding me.
I will post some pics once I am done and its working.

I’m trying to do what you suggested and I need a bit of help. I need to know which wires do what, so I know which button to connect them to. Any help relating to the wiring of these buttons would be a great help because my buttons recently started failing me and I love my Tekken 6 and would like to repair it!

Follow the traces on the Button PCB.

I can go check again, but I’m pretty sure there isn’t anything like that because there’s that pcb where you solder the buttons to, but its connected to some ribbon cable that has all the wires on it and the idea is to cut those wires from the pcb the buttons are soldered to and then solder wires to those wires and connect them to the buttons…at least this is what I’ve got out of everything I’ve read and there really isn’t any definitive tutorials or information on doing this.

Bump and double post (hopefully this is ok, but anyways)

I checked the pcb and I didn’t seen anything like you described on there…maybe you can take a picture for me or maybe somebody else knows how to do this?
