nice job V4MP. This should be added to the essential thread. looks at Shoo
Wow Good job dude!
I was able to pick up a new T5 stick at Gamestop for $30, and I think it may be my first mod. Seems pretty straight forward…though I haven’t soldered anything in a while. I also have an Agetec DC stick, and a Hori 360 EX2, so maybe I’ll do one of those two first (prob agetec), then do the T5 once I’ve got one under my belt.
But thanks for this thread, I know I’ll be referencing it at some point.
I thing modding the T5, will be easy then other two, IMO
Odd… I have the same one, but I get no lag whatsoever. I also have a T5 stick.
Hmm… It seems modding a T5 doesn’t seem as bad as I thought it was going to be, or as bad as people say it is.
Question though, I’m not really so sure what a pre-wired PCB is suppose to come with. Do you just need to buy the buttons and then just attach the wires from the PCB into the QDs? And what about the Joystick? Do you have to do some soldering?
Yea that’s basically it. If you follow V4MPIRO’s guide you’ll see that you have to save one of the terminal spots for ground. All of the ground wires coming out of the buttons and JLF you would wire to that one terminal spot. Everything else from there is pretty self explanatory.
Remember that when you order the pad hacked, that you ask whomever is doing the job for you to use .110 QDs.
It seems this might be a good thread to ask:
I’ll probably be getting one of these sticks soon, how easy would it be to change the art on the controller face? I don’t know if it would require me to have to remove the current art on there first, or I could find something easy to just stick over it.
The best way is to peel off old sticker, clean up residue (if any), then stick on new art that is printed on adhesive vinyl/lamilabel.
Thanks. I figured it was probably just something stuck onto the stick itself. I suppose I’ll start looking into finding out about doing stuff with the vinyl and making a template of some sort.
i have one of these sticks coming to me in the mail, and i’m looking to put a Happ stick in it to play marvel. any idea if this is doable? i searched around and couldnt find any tutorials on putting a happ stick into a T5.
why are you sanding with wood sand? I suppose that’s not on purpose
It’s doable, but you’ll need to do some very heavy modding.
I got two of these that I’m modding atm. One of them I swapped out the black shell with the white on on my HRAP2. The other I’m keeping the black shell and replacing the art. Ill post pics when I’m done with it.
any suggestions on how to put a Seimitsu in there?
What will it look like when you peel off the sticker? Will the surface look white or black?
i think it will just be bare sheet metal, not pretty
It’s bare metal with residue from the old art.
I finally got the dremel started and it works like a dream when filing down the buttons. It only took like 10 minutes. I filed my Hori EX2 by hand and that took like two days ><’.
Can I mod in my Sanwa JLF-TP-8T ? also what do I do with the Wiring harness.
In vamps pictures it looks as though the wiring harness isn’t even used is he just using QD’s and hooking them to the microswitches, I wish he shed a little more information on that.
On the side of the pcb are wires. I don’t remember the pinout correctly but the direction pinouts will have to be crimped together with the JLF harness. Locate the ground for the pcb and daisy chain it between the JLF and all of the buttons.
That JLF is the same one as the one V4MPIRO has. You just have to remove the mounting plate that’s on it.
I’m sorry I don’t know the pinout for the pcb. I junked both of them in favor of a DS pad. I’m doing it for a friend so that the pcb is compatible with all converters.
