Just got the bag in today. Was kind dissapointed that it was shipped in a clear plastic bag and just left on my doorstep. =/. The bag itself feels like it is lined on the inside with some sort of foam padding. Maybe 1/8th inch thick, like it is lined with neoprene behind the nylon material.
The side pockets look like they can hold 2 dvds each. I was able to fit Blazblue CS LE edition, but not Mass Effect LE.
Each pocket has a little velcro
There is a long zipper pocket with a see through mesh.
I had to turn it inside out to show the securing straps There are two straps with clips and one velcro running along lengthwise for smaller sticks.
Along the bottom there is a velcro pad to cushion the stick.
I have a modded Tekken 5 that is the same size as the old HRAPs The 2 straps fit fine I just didn’t tighten them before taking the picture. The 2 straps cover where the side top bolts are.
Also fits the TE.
Here is the VLX
Has plenty of room to close up but is form fitted to the length.
It has to be held like a briefacse. This bag could really use a shoulder strap to be carried like a duffle bag or backpack.
I know it’s kinda subjective, but is it worth it to you? Is the construction solid, and seem comfortable or more well build than the Evo bag?
I bought the Evo bag and just didn’t care for it; the lack of padding, cheap plastic bits, it just seemed cheap and I’ve been using a laptop bag instead. Do you like it? Do you plan on using it?
At $50, It will be tough to find a bag that fits the VLX like a glove. The material is thicker and more padded than the Evo bag. So that alone makes it worth it to me.
My biggest gripe is the lack of a shoulder strap. Ideally I’d like the option to carry it like a backpack vertically. I suppose I could mod it with a metal eyelet punch to add my own straps, but I would have gladly paid $20 more for it to be a backpack as well.
I bought it as more of a way to hang it in my closet. I usually bring something smaller and managable to a tournament. If you tried to carry this like a purse, It would fuck up your posture and your back after a few hours.
It’s definitely better quality than the Evo bag (my shoulder strap ripped at SoCal regionals actually). Not many bags out there than can fit the VLX (maybe a music keyboard or gym bag). Good for transport or storage i think (yes I have one as well that I picked up at SCR).
After a couple of months with my VLX, I need one of these HRAP Travel bags. Is this only exclusive from the Hori USA and Japan store? I already dinged the left bezel of mine because the duffel bag I am currently using isn’t exactly the proper fit…
So I just bought one of these. I can literally fit two TE’s inside obviously I have them facing opposite sides of the bag so both joysticks aren’t touching eachother at all and I mean I feel like asking do you guys think this might be a bad idea or not because it fits it just fine, i’m not using the straps but is it able to support the weight of two TE’s? I can include a pic of how it’s set up if anyone wants to take a look.
