Is the HRAP v3 SA Heavy?

People are saying its a little lighter than a TE. If you consider that heavy than sure!

Just got mine. I am not a good SF4 player at all, but hey…

It weights almost 2lbs lighter than a HRAP stick, which is already lighter than a TE stick.

Nice vid

Would be nice to put some buttons under the “wings” maybe start or RT / LT, so that you can play fliper games o//

Today my parts arrived from gamingnow and I plugged in holes 7 and 8 on the V-SA. Those quick disconnects were on tight. I busted up a switch on one of the buttons (it’s okay I have extra switches) but it made me realize I wanted no part in changing out the rest of the buttons for different colors. I thought about all black, or red rims with black plungers or vice versa. I am going to keep it white for a while.

Tonight I played trial mode for a while and I realized that I really like the feel of this controller. I miss the weight of the VSHG but the panel is so wide that I can rest it easily on my lap and it is very comfortable, light, and sturdy. The positioning of the stick and buttons ended up naturally in the middle of my body and I enjoyed playing. After, I played a few more minutes with the VSGH and one of my custom sticks. The VSGH was heavy and I like that, but it didn’t feel wide enough where I was comfortable having my legs apart. When I used my custom stick I was a bit thrown by the octagon gate. I think I am finally getting used to the square gate.

Yesterday I was having buyer’s remorse because I didn’t need another controller but tonight all of that went away. I only wish it had been a 6-button layout and part of me still wonders about the reason for placing the star button on the right instead of the top with select and home. Part of me understands that if you are buying this joystick, you will not hit that accidentally because you have some skills or desire to acquire them.

Yeah,

Hot shit!

What a step up from the FS.

Congrats on the stick and yes, very nice vid :wgrin:
I have to admit though, it just seems too light and that’s the only thing putting me off of it.

open it up and put some weights in it. done.

Nice couch

You’ve got to be kidding me, less than 1 week after it’s been released, another color variation already!?

shells out cash for another one

Amazon Edition…

LOL!

… And the insanity continues for MarkMan!

It’s not as if I didn’t tell you so! :looney:

Geez. :looney:

The Amazon doesn’t look that good.

A full white version like the proto would sell much more…

Hey Markman, if you don’t mind me asking, what’s the total cost of getting that thing to the US? That’s one solid looking stick.

Tao,

Shipping from Japan for a joystick can be anywhere from $45-$60 on top of whatever the vendor decides to charge.

It’s not always a case of the seller marking up the item… Sometimes they have to charge more because their middleman/distributor is gouging them, too!

The problem with Amazon.jp is that they don’t generally ship something like this outside of Japan. You have to have a source (friend or specialty shop) get one of those sticks for you.

I suspect MarkMan has a “source” like that to get the stick. Individual Americans generally can’t get these sticks which is why we pay ridiculous premiums on top of shipping for them from import shops… That’s why we can’t buy a new White HRAP 3 (Amazon.jp exclusive) for less than $150 in the US. That’s the cheapest any place sells that variant in the States (unused)!

Agreed with others about the colors of the Amazon.jp exclusive. Don’t care for it myself.

I would have preferred an all-white version like the prototype mock-up myself. The initial black with red rings and white buttons release didn’t look bad, either.

Markman,

I’m interested in the Amazon version, do you know if play-asia might get these in?

Aren’t the Amazon Editions are only sold on Amazon.co.jp by?
Although Play-Asia and NCSX did have the first HRAP Amazon Edition.

Was the HRAP Death Smiles for Amazon.co.jp also?
Play-Asia and NCSX had them too.

Play-Asia should be getting these in.
