Anyone seen the 360 version yet? Supposedly it came out yesterday.
any site to pick this up <200
Well, Play-Asia has it for $150 plus $50-$60 shipping but currently sold out. Also, checkout the trading outlet forum since I’ve seen a few peeps are selling there every once awhile.
I think with Play-Asia, the exact same thing has happened just like it did with the VLX’s, the status of the item went straight to “Out of print / Out of stock”. Best bet would be with Renchi as mentioned aboved. I literally just put an order in about 10 minutes ago.
Alright guys, I’ve got a little bit of a problem. I bought one of these the other day, and damn if I didn’t play it for not even two freaking days before something messes up.
For some reason, my Triangle button is stuck on the lowest auto-fire setting. I can turn it up, and I can turn it down, but I can’t turn it off. What the hell is that?!
So my question is this: can I just turn the turbo off from the inside? From the pics you guys have posted, it looks like the whole turbo set of buttons can be disconnected. Is that how it is? If so, I’m all for that, since I don’t want to the turbo anyway really.
I just hope it isn’t something messed on within the Triangle button itself, like shoddy soldering making a connection or something weird.
Any help and advice would be appreciated!
So I have one of these coming (well, the 360 version) and I plan on modding it to simply place the stick with a Seimitsu. I want to make sure I don’t end up buying the wrong thing off Akibashop, so what exactly should I be looking for? Will the LS-32-01 work? Needs to be perfect.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks guys.
i think it only takes sanwa
Actualy, there’s a link afew posts back that shows how to mod an LS-32 to make it fit on a Sanwa sized mounting bracket using an RE plate.
Sorry, I’m not really savvy with these terms at all. My Japanese is pretty bad as well, so linking to that really just adds confusion to the mix. How did he modify his LS-32-01 by -5mm?
If I’m forced to use Sanwa I’d rather use nothing at all, and I’d turn around and sell it. Seriously.
He basically used the LS-32 RE plate (flat plate) to fit standard Sanwa mounting, and sanded off 5mm off the blue coloured bearing trestle to bring the LS-32 mounting to arcade specifics.
There are still other Seimitsu sticks that you could try. Using the MS plate, you can fit LS-33/55/56 to regular Sanwa mountings. I’m still waiting for my LS-56 from Aki. Planning on doing some spring mods to at least get it to feel like an LS-32.
cool good too know thanks
So, is it possible to buy a LS-55 and drop it in there without any issues? I don’t get what all the big deal is in wanting an LS-32 really, they’re both Seimitsu.
Edit: How about the LS-55-01?
The reason why many people like the LS-32-01 is that it feels JLF-like (looser) BUT has a smaller dead zone, generally reacts a bit quicker than the JLF, and has a slightly stiffer spring than the JLF. Basically, it’s like a tighter version of the JLF minus the worst aspects of the JLF.
It’s all a matter of choice, really.
It’s mistaken to assume that the Seimitsus are all alike. The LS-56 has the tightest spring tension and is the most Happ-like in that sense. All the other Seimitsu sticks are between LS-32 and LS-56 in tension and basic feel.
The problem with the Seimitu supply in the US is that currently none of the vendors I’m aware of have all the Seimitsu sticks in-stock. They generally have the LS-32(-01), LS-56(-01), and LS-40(-01).
(Stocking shouldn’t be a big deal for people in the Asian sphere. Akihabarashop is really your best source anyway, and they carry just about everything…!)
LS-55’s and LS-33’s generally are not stocked so much because they’re less popular among gamers… The LS-32-01 and LS-56-01 are probably the second and third most popular joysticks after the Sanwa JLF… LS-32-01 (with the S-mount) has the advantage of being drop-in compatible with both the Mad Catz TE and HRAP SA/SE sticks since those sticks have “universal mounts” (made to accommodate both LS-32-01 and JLF with TWO built-in joystick mounts). An LS-56-01 (with the right mounting plate) will fit in virtually any JLF mount in the HRAP series and licensed HRAP-lite sticks like the Tekken 5, Arcana Heart, SFIV (Hori), and BlazBlue sticks.
I don’t understand why you know you want a Seimitsu but you don’t even know which one you want. This makes me think you have tried a JLF or some other Sanwa before and didn’t like it, but are you sure any certain Seimitsu stick is what you want? It might help if you explained why you don’t like Sanwa sticks, and which sticks you do like.
Does anyone have the 360 one yet?
Anyone seen the pcb of it? Is it a common ground pcb?
Thanks for the input, guys.
I already have a HRAP with a LS-32-01, but I’m mostly a pad user and I’ve had no exposure to any other Seimitsu sticks. My VX-SA arrived today and I’ve literally just tested it out, and while neat, I just can’t get used to how loose Sanwa sticks are. I mostly play shooters, so this is important to me.
I haven’t opened it up yet. Should I? I was thinking of selling it actually. It was a stupid impulse buy, and I’m not sure why I did get it anyway. Shipping might kill it though, based on my location. In order to get back what I paid, I would need to sell it for $170 USD + shipping (anywhere up to $80).
Ah, I gotcha. Wasn’t clear that you were already familiar with the LS-32. It’s a pretty cool stick, but fitting in an LS-32 isn’t a piece of cake. You could try an LS-56. It’s really tight, strong spring, short throw. I have used it for shmups before and it works pretty well if you prefer very fast response in a tight circle. If this makes any sense, this type of stick feels better to me in bullet-hell style games where you are constantly moving and dodging, but less comfortable than the LS-32 in old-school shooters where you move less but precise positioning is important. It doesn’t feel anything like an LS-32. The LS-32 is a lot looser and more JLF-like.
Personally I prefer the LS-40 over the LS-56 for shmups, but the LS-40 has the same mounting issue as the LS-32.
Yeah, see, I don’t know – I’ve been getting conflicting information about the LS-56 recently.
This post claims that the LS-56 has a shorter throw than the LS-32, to support your own claim. This graph and this chart claim otherwise.
Bullet hell shmups is essentially what I intended on using this for.
So anyway, is it safe to order an LS-56-01 and test it out? Or will I need an MS mounting plate as well?
I just saw the VX at a local shop, and boy is it sexy. LS-32 support is a pity, considering that I’ve sworn to LS-32 for years. I had no prior experience with the LS-56, and honestly, charts and reviews don’t speak for your actual experience. And I have read lots of shooter fans favouring the LS-56, might as well try it out to see what the fuss is all about. If in any case LS-56 wasn’t up for the job, the least I could do is mod it to feel like an LS-32. I’ll keep you guys posted once my parts arrive.
Yes, you need an MS plate to mount to regular Sanwa mounts as already mentioned.
Edit: It seems that the LS-56 with it’s normal square gate has a larger throw than LS-32, but with the LS-56 octagonal gate installed, the throw is shorter due to the smaller gate. Though Both the LS-56 and LS-32 has similar engage distance.
