Rarity + one of the first retail sticks to ever have all Sanwa parts.
Most other Hori sticks that came out at that time used a Sanwa stick but had Hori brand buttons.

Oh I had no idea it was sanwa parts. I’m so used to all the false advertising everywhere I assumed it was “arcade like” parts.
I love the design of that. If that stick worked on a PC I might pick one up. Looks like an excellent travel stick too if it’s smaller than a Madcatz TE/Qanba stick.
So Hori switched from Sanwa to their own inhouse brand when the PS3 came out?
(sort of like Cherry MX vs Gateron/Kailh/Outemu for mechanical keyboards?)
Was that one all Sanwa?
It’s not the SA model so wouldn’t that only have a Sanwa stick and Hori buttons?
If you check the first page of this thread all of that info is there. In the PS3 era they still offered both Sanwa and Seimitsu arcade sticks as well as all Hori part sticks. These are definitely not smaller than TEs. They’re actually considerably more bulky.
I used a beaten up Hori EX as the basis to my Virtual On Stick.
I don’t have a photo right now as image shack holding the images hostage.
Correction, that stick did have Sanwa stick and Hori buttons after looking at my first post in this thread. It is still super rare though.
In trying to demystify Hori’s terrible naming scheme i made some headway
Looking at this chart here I notice Hori took the time to include serial numbers.
After tons of searching I found some photos of some boxes.
And on the boxes I saw there are model serval numbers
Hori Real Arcade Pro Soul Calibur V for the PS3 is HP3-109 and HX3-74 for the Xbox 360
The Hori Real Arcade Pro DOA 5 stick for the PS3 is HP3-150
The Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 SA is model number HP3-65
The Hori Real Arcade Pro V4 Hayabusa is ps4-005
The Hori Real Arcade Pro.V HAYABUSA for PlayStation4 & PlayStation3 is PS4-046

PlayAsia as the model number listed as the “Catalog No.”
Often on the US packaging you see the model number ending in a extra letter, a U; example HP3-150U.
That U just stands for United States as the Japanese is lacking that extra letter.

Hello! First time here. I recently purchased the KoF XIV Hori RAP 4 Kai and I wanted some advice on the best battops that would work with it. I wanted to put a crown or fantasy joystick in, but I decided against going through the trouble. The stick as a whole is great, but the balltop is too small for me.
Does anyone know how much of a hassle it would be to properly mount an ls-32 in a HRAP 2?
Shouldn’t be any trouble.
can someone tell which mouting plate to get for my HRAP 4 kai? also will the LS-32-01-shaft will be long enough?
thanks
You need the S plate. With the S plate th length should be fine.
are there any hori fightsticks that also have a d pad?
If they had a D-pad they would be a fight game pad not fight stick.
Is it possible to use screw-in buttons to mod the Hori RAP 4 Kai?
Yes
Yes. I know its possible cause I done it.
Looks like 7 out of the 9 buttons are fine, the L1 button and the Options button require further case modification. I used a Dremel tool to route out some of the case plastic so the screw-rings would fit those buttons, there were no issues between buttons though, which is what I was most worried about.
