Hori Real Arcade Pro FAQ for all versions

Thanks I got him to refund me a quarter of the price. Its still useable just the damn L2 button does not work
So It looks Like I have to start modding
I have gotten used to the Squaregate and the Balltop is growing on me
I am going to open up the joystick and see if the issue is with the wire or the button itself.
And If I replace one button I will replace them all with Sanwa 30mm buttons
I wanted to know on the Akirajp Site

Is there a noticeable difference between the OBSF-30 and the OBSF-30RG ???

I think they feel the same, but just like the site says, they:

  • Last 5x longer
  • Have a taller microswitch ( i think it’d fit in HRAP but haven’t tried nor remember seeing anyone else try)

How difficult is it to put a x360 pcb into a HRAP2: SA. I’d like to be able to use mine on both my PS3 and X360.

Quick question, I know that the PS3 is region free, but does that also apply to the arcade sticks and controllers because I was thinking of purchasing
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...n-70-1rrr.html when they got more in stock. I’m worried that it won’t work because it says that it is compatible with with Playstation 3 Japan, and I have a US playstation. Thank you

Does anyone know if the HRAP 3 SA has quick disconnects for the stick as well as the buttons. The original poster of this thread didn’t seem to specify.

controllers are region free … every controller is even for 360 …

yes it has qd … you mean the 5pin connecter ?

I also got my HRAP3 yesterday. I found it locally for $110. Not too bad, a little high but not too bad. This is also my first arcade stick.

I was looking at the HFS3 but it seemed that the HRAP3 had much better information. This site is awesome. I can’t seem to find the search button though.

Also, how do people know what parts are compatible with what sticks? I go to lizardlick and find an octo-gate however, can I just buy the Sanwa GT-Y or do I have to mod the whole stick piece itself? What about the balltops? They have all different models of that too. I found the beginning articles pretty good, but they only talk about the sticks themselves. I wouldn’t change the stick itself, however it was recommended that if someone wanted to, they could use the LS-56-01. Now, why would someone do that? Because it’s stiffer? Is it also longer? I mean, I don’t want to do that. Apparently, we have a very good Sanwa JLF-TP8Y-SK.

I know that the Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons are for the main, and OBSF-24 are for the select and start buttons… How hard is it for somone to change these buttons? Also, what are the corresponding Seimitsu buttons that are compatible. Thanks for your time and help. I would search around, but for some reason, i can not find the search function.

^^^

110 isn’t bad for the HRAP3 now. I wanted to get one, last week they were on Amazon for 99 for PS3 and 129 for 360… now they’re way too much. I see the 360 version being sold for 250:tdown:

So on the HRAP EX the stick is soldered directly to the PCB, correct? If so, what does one do if the stick itself ever breaks? Is it easily replaceable?

You can buy the microswitches at lizardlick. You could also use Cherry switches. The other parts you can get from regular JLF’s

Bah, tearing my hair out trying to get a HRAP 2 without getting gouged by ebay. =(

After owning my hrap 3 for about 3 months and about 1000 matches later, my stock JLF feels kind of weird. When I press in any direction after hitting the gate it has a bit more give (feels like a click). This was not there on the first day and frankly it feels a bit broken although it still plays fine.

A few questions:

  1. is this common?
  2. is there a specific part that got worn out that I can replace? or do I have to buy a whole JLF to replace?
  3. are there some maintenance steps to prevent this from happening again if I do replace it?

thanks in advance.

Hi I was just wondering, I’m thinking of picking up a cheap HRAP2 (hopefully) and modding it with sanwa/seimitsu. I was wondering if an InPin converter produces no lag whatsoever for the input and works for both the PS3/PC? Thanks!

Anyone in the NYC\Jersey area willing to mod a HRAP3 to work on a 360? If so, how much?

they don’t see hrap3 that works with xbox?

It is a ripoff but still cheaper than playasia or a seller from Japan.

Play Asia charges $189.99 Plus $60 shipping

$249.99

But this stick is out of print. :lame:

I have a harp mirror top and us tekken 5 stick. both do not work with my mayflash 3 in 1 converter or my pIII converter. I have a sf anniversary stick that works fine with both anyone know the problem that I’m having and can U PM.

So im looking into playing some third strike and the anniversary collection for PS2 has 3rd strike in it and is backwards compatible with PS3. So will i be able to play it on my PS3 using the HRAP3 without any problems?

Depending on what I get for my tax return, I may be picking up a PS2 HRAP from somewhere. Just don’t know what I’m going to do with my MAS stick if I get it
