Hori Real Arcade Pro FAQ for all versions

You should probably just keep the Sanwa JLF in the HRAP3 and try to build your own Happ stick, which sounds much easier than trying to fit a Happ Competition into a HRAP. American sticks seem to be simpler to build than japanese sticks. Have a look in the appropriate threads to find some more info.

Not sure where the best place is to ask this?
How much do you think a HRAP1 Version B is worth? Thinking of selling mine, UK only though.

Would put it on ebay, but I’m not sure anyone would buy it (there are no other HRAPs on there) or the Trading Outlet of this forum (but not many brits there?).

Thanks for your help.

A HRAP2 goes for about $100-110 NIB shipped in the US. I say about $80 if it is unmodded and has seen heavy use, $90 if onlt used an average amount. If it is modded with Sanwa buttons then maybe about $90 if used a lot, $100 if used an average amount, maybe $110 if it is barely used and completely intact. If you put an octagonal gate on the HRAP, then you can add about $2.50 to the price. If the Sanwa JLF is broken, deduct about $25 from the price. If stick has broken buttons but a working stick the starting price should be about 80.

Since you are in the UK, find out what a HRAP2 cost shipped to the UK along with hte UK pricing of Sanwa sticks and buttons in order to determine the price. You should deduct about 10% or so since you have a HRAP1b which has a much inferior layout compared to a HRAP2 due to the placing of the start/select buttons. If you had a HRAP1a then I would deduct about 15% due to the highly scratchable top.

hey, i play on pc online but would practice seldomly on ps2 or xbox, dont have a ps3, probably wont buy one either

so only thing in stock anywhere is hori 3. Any way to get it to work with ps2?
could i replace the pcb ? i take its straight up usb and i would loose that and be stuck with using pelican convertor if i want to play on pc?

Yes, you can swap out the PCB with a PS1 DS PCB.

Thanks Tingboy, would u recommend this, considering there is 0 alternative, has anyone else changes their hrap3 pcbs?

it should be really easy to swap pcbs. you probably dont even have to remove the old one, just remove the QDs and the cord?

is the pcb hidden away like in the hrap 1 and hrap 2?

i havent bought it yet, theres nothing else out there [in stock], 1 and 2 are out of print.
only downfall here is if i change pcb then im adding another medium when i play on pc.

Hold on - There still appear to be plenty of HRAP 2s from Vista Products on eBay, although I don’t know how much shipping would be to Ireland. And then there are tariffs. Nonetheless you could ask the seller and I would also recommend asking your customs office how much the tariffs and fees would be.

HRAP2 is easily available from many places.

like where?
thanks malik11, but they do not ship internationally.

are these re released editions [did that even go through?]

HRAP2 $89.95

Thanks,
has anyone bought from these??? site seems a bit dodgy.
United postal service deliver international i take it, site has several posting methods, that being cheapest

With shipping it’ll come to about 105 or more depending on how fast you want it. I got mine from http://videogameaction.com/ and it cost a flat $100 w/ shipping for me. Highly recommend that site.

thanks but im in europe ! theyre shipping section has just US and military :o !

Does anyone know which wire is the 3.3v and which is the ground on the HRAP2 cable? Looking at the PCB from the back of the HRAP2, the wires are in this order from left to right:
Blue, Red, Brown, Yellow, Orange, Grey, Green, Black

Black doesn’t seem to be ground and red doesn’t seem to be the 3.3v like it usually is on PSX pads.

Man, I need to buy a multimeter -_-;

Edit: Added photos. Links under the pictures are the full size images.

Do any of the HRAP’s have easily swappable artwork?

On mine the black wire is 3-5v (depending on what you have it hooked up to) and the blue wire is ground.

Actually I went directly to their warehouse in Baldwin Park, CA, so I’m not sure about their shipping policies. They are legit though.

Hmmm, seems to be different for me =\

I’ve tried different combinations of wires with an LED. Some combinations glow dimly, while a few others glow brightly. I’ll write down which combinations provide the brightest glowand maybe someone can interpret for me? =P

Edit: nvm. I just settled with a combination (red and blue). Works fine =)
