Hori Real Arcade Pro FAQ for all versions

Is there a way to buy Special Edition HRAP now. There are no wed site that can help to order the stick

^ The Special Addition and Edition HRAPs were only available to order from Hori’s site and was for Japanese only. They sold out real quick when released in March of this year, anyway it’s practically impossible now to get either.

How hard would it be to put in a ls-32 inside of a mirror top HRAP?

Does the DreamBox converter work with the HRAP for SFAE??

I’m just bumping this up.

anyone willing to make money to mod my t5 stick, :expressionless:

I just want to know what other sites sell the HRAP(the one with the green buttons) besides www.play-asia.com and www.lik-sang.com . Because both sites are back ordered and wont start shipping in like weeks till they restocked, and i want to buy one now. Thanks in advance for the reply

you know whats great? the fact that we have had 3 million hrap/converter/whatever threads, and i’m still not 100% about which harp>xbox converter to use…i’ve heard alot about the magicbox, and it seems like the one to use, but i’m not 100%…so, should i do the magicbox or the dragonbox. i haven’t heard much about the dragonbox, but i’m losing my midn trying to figure the best converter…its funny that i had an easier time finding a converter to use my hrap on my neo-geo than finding good info on the xbox conversion…

magicbox is the way to go. it doesn’t have communicator compatiblilty, but who cares?

thank you

I’d like to know how to remove the shiny ball-things on top of the HRAP. I can get the screws undone on the underside (I’m not that bad) but the round screw things on the top have formed an impenetrable defence against my every attempt. The 4 shoulder buttons (L1,L2,R1,R2) have just died (using a USB converter) and I need to figure this out.

Any advice?

Uh, I’m guessing you’re talking about the six rounded bolts on top of your front panel, keeping it down? Once you unscrew the bottom plate, there should be six nuts connected to those bolts, along with 6 washers. You can use a 7mm socket or plyers to unscrew those nuts from the bolts. Once those nuts come off, the bolts should be easily removed from the front panel.

I’ve unscrewed the bottom plate, but how do you remove it entirely? Do you just have to ply it out? Dig your finger in there? Turn the thing upside down? I couldn’t figure it out, and since I have bad luck when fiddling with electronics, didn’t want to be rough with it.

Uh, so you need to remove the BOTTOM plate? If it doesnt just fall off, get a flat head and pop it out.

pull at the cord

I thought you had to remove the top plate before you removed the bottom. My bad.

I’ll give it a shot as soon as I can.

As far as replacing the standard Hori buttons with Sanwas goes, do people see any gains in performance? The Hori buttons feel a bit muddy and ‘unclean’ to me, but will replacing them with Sanwas make them sharper? I also like to bang the buttons a bit, so I’m assuming the Sanwas can take this sort of beating.

Secondly, does anyone recommend the Semitsu buttons as alternatives to Sanwas?

you won’t need to bang the buttons if you do replace the buttons with sanwas, they are extremely sensitive, you can drop a paper plate on them and they will probably all depress. going from sanwa buttons from the stock ones is definitely an improvement (at least in how reliable your button presses are, helps immensely for shit like link combos in cvs2)

Buy Sanwa… And the best resource is himuragames.com

I have a question about the shitty turbo buttons. for some reason, the magic box converter actually screws up my HRAP righteously. Using the magic box, the turbo function is just on regardless of whether or not the turbo is turned on. So what’s a safe way to disable that turbo bs?
