Hori Real Arcade Pro EX problems (XBOX 360)

Hi,

Can anybody help me with the following problem: I have this stick, and it hasn’t been used for about a year. There wasn’t anything wrong with it then, but now when I try to use it, my XBOX doesn’t recognize it any more. When I connect the stick and hold the ‘Guide button’, nothing happens. The console doesn’t start, neither does it find the stick if I start the console first otherwise. When I tried unplugging the cord a couple of times, it sometimes made all of the the ‘controller number’ lights star blinking, like when a regular XBOX wireless does when you are supposed to configure it. This, however, is hot wireless, not did it do that when I used it a year ago… and it still does nothing when the lights start blinking, and they only do that occasionally when I plug it in anyway…

So does anyone have any idea what is going on and what am I supposed to do about it? I can’t comprehed how a controller could break by sitting in a closet. Or am I just forgetting some normal XBOX procedure? I certainly remember I didn’t do anything the last time except plug it in.

Hmm I managed to fix this, so no help needed anymore. It was caused by the ‘safety connector’ part which somehow had some dust or something there.

I got a Hori Real Arcade Pro VX SA and I’m having the same issue. My 360 won’t recognize the stick when I plug it in. Could you elaborate a bit further on what you did to fix it please?

Well, I can’t guarantee your problem is the same as mine was, but for me it was caused by the safety release in the cord, which either wasn’t properly connected or had dust in it. Now if you haven’t used many wired controllers you might not understand what that safety release is, I didn’t remember that myself until later when I remembered to check it… What it means is there is a connector in the cord, which you’ll notice if you try pulling around the visible lumps you see on it. The reason for this is that if you accidentally pull hard on the cord, it won’t pull your XBOX off a table or damage the actual USB connector. So check that this is clean and properly connected. If that doesn’t work then you have some other problem of course, but naturally remember to check that the USB connectors are clean as well.
