kuroneko just dropped off the box to my jp-gf, can’t wait to get it via ems! Can anyone tell me if the buttons used on the SE (PS-14-G) feel different from the skeleton Seimitsu buttons (PS-14-K), or is it just a cosmetic difference? :clown:
the PS-14-G has a different dimension than the PS-14-K. While the PS-14-K looks more like OBSF (but obviously with the translucent finish), the PS-14-G has a noticeably flatter pushbutton and a slightly wider, flatter rim. e
however, the microswitch in the PS-14-G is the same as the PS-14-D (edit) so the performance is the same (both slightly less sensitive than the OBSF).
my bad, PS-14-K does not have the same microswitch as the PS-14-G (30mm). PS-14-K uses the same microswitch in PS-14-D (24mm).
anybody else order from japanvideo games.com? paid on the 23rd said they would ship on the 30th. any body dealt with them in the past? was kinda hoping to get my stick before the long weekend
Arcade shock will be taking preorders on these sticks. Expected arrival will be around September 15th, price will be $120USD. A-S is guaranteed to get these sticks. A-S has confirmed it with Hori.
Also, the HRAP 360 SA’s, which will be selling for $140USD. A-S will be unveiling images of the HRAP360SA’s within a few weeks.
I see that the site is updated, though i only see the SA versions, you guys expect to be taking pre-orders for the HRAP3-SE soon?
I’m such a sucker for all these different editions, so right after getting a HRAP3, an HRAP3-SA seems like a waste of money, so i figured after i mod my HRAP3 with full Sanwa, why not go for an SE and try out Seimitsu, as to be honest, I’ve never actually used Seimitsu parts before, so a special stick might be a good place to start
finally got my se today only played 20 minutes on it . was suprised how much alike semitsu buttons really are to stock hori buttons . the stick (first impression) is a better feel than a sanwa imo .got a se and a sa the ps3 stick colletion is done. now on to getting to quality sticks for tatsunuko lol
I’d disagree with you on the buttons… The Seimitsus are BETTER than anything Hori makes IMHO but still lesser than the Sanwas. The best Hori buttons are definitely the QD buttons on the HRAP sticks. The buttons Hori solders onto its other sticks are junk. Hori buttons, in general, are still inferior to the arcade grade Sanwas and Seimitsus. Sanwas are just more responsive than anything else I’ve played with.
As for sticks, to each their own. The spring-modded Sanwa feels stiffer than the Seimitsu but stock Seimitsu feels just a hair bit stiffer than the Sanwa. I just don’t think there’s as great a difference to the feel as some people think. It’s like comparing manual transmissions between Toyotas and Hondas.
I still feel though that the Sanwa JLFs are better supported by shops and that it’s easier to find spares and replacements for the Sanwa stick than the Seimitsu brands.
It is nice to have an SE stick to compare, though. I’m still keeping mine. The only mod I’m planning on making is a shaft cover mod to protect the metal shaft. You have to do that on your own, though, since no stock shaft cover is made for the LS-32 sticks. You can, however, make a proper fitting cover from the JLF-CD shaft/dust covers made for the Sanwa JLF. At least one person’s done that and it’s as simple as getting a big enough pen to fit through the cover and wrapping sand paper around it. It’ll take a while to thin out the plastic enough fit the LS-32 shaft but it’ll probably be worth it in the long run.
The metal will react to sweat. The stuff’s just plain aluminum.
That’s why I like the shaft covers available for the JLF and am puzzled by why Seimitsu doesn’t offer something that basic for all its sticks…
Like I said, a mod for the Seimitsu shouldn’t be hard at all. It’ll just take time to sand off enough plastic to fit the wider diameter of the LS-32 shaft. Probably about an hour.
Nobody seems to be aware of a drill bit that would be safe to use/fit the JLF-CD shaft cover.
