The micro switch for the right direction is pretty much messed up. You need to push it in much farther than is needed, past the point where it clicks. This makes down and up right directions an impossibility.
I first noticed it today when I installed a sanwa octagonal restrictor gates and quarter circle right motions appeared as down and right, with no down-right. It wasn’t inconsistent, but still worked sometimes.
It got worse when I opened it up again, though, to the point where it simply wouldn’t happen. Could only walk right. No right jumps and no fireballs going to the right.
Anyone know if hayabusa sticks have easily replaceable micro switches?
Do I actually have to replace it?
What do you do to remove micro switches? What types do the hayabusa have?
Any help will be appreciated.
PS: I recently got this stick on the 9th of this month. Unsurprisingly all these issues happened just today after I installed the octagonal gate and got worse steadily. I have placed the old stock square gate back and no results.
That may be the better option. I’ll see about removing my stick.
The screws are too large and stuck for what I use to screw and unscrew, but I’ll just invest in a better screwdriver or whatever.
I’ll look up stick replacement info online, hopefully it isn’t too complicated.
Gonna go back to Sanwa JLF.
I want to easily replace the gate.
You could have just gotten the Kowal Hayabusa Octopus. It’s literally an octo gate specifically designed for the Hayabusa.
Also, please use the stickied threads next time instead of making a new one.
yes, the hayabusa has easily replaceable microswitches. they are not soldered onto a board like on the JLF. it could be that the microswitch is faulty but then again you can’t expect joystick mods to work perfectly. this microswitch mod might help the right switch engage until you can find a replacement https://youtu.be/QytcbzZmXaI?t=62
There’s one that uses a silent optical Hayabusa, but we know it can’t be that since he specifically addresses clicking in the OP. Other than that, I think you’re correct.
You remove the gate and you should have access to the microswitches, slide off the quick disconnects connected to the faulty switch then connect a new switch. Not sure which type the Hayabusa use but there are different switches for sale on Paradise Arcade Store and Focus Attack Store that are used for Sanwa JLF replacements and Happ sticks wwhich you could experiment with if you can’t find the switches that the Hayabusa actually use.
This was the closest existing threat to what i was trying to do. I’m simply just trying to replace the micro switches. Can anyone confirm that these in fact need a soldering iron? There isn’t a tab or anything to that extent.(this is a HORI RAP4)
