Hori HRAP V4 announced... compatible with PS3 AND PS4

Hmm, I see. It doesn’t sound like the MadCatz features are anything I would be concerned about - I just want a good-quality, latency-less stick for PS3/4 that isn’t likely to break.

First off I going to stop you right now.

Ignore that whole latency thread, in the long run it will not help you. Especially in the case of PS4 sticks (which was not tested).

“that isn’t likely to break” is too subjective. There is not enough known about the TE 2 stick body to make that assessment.

And last, We are going way off topic. If its a matter of budget, get the stick that closer matches your budget.

The latency thing is more just about me hearing that my current stick (an X-Arcade Tankstick) suffers from latency issues, and from what I had heard Hori’s got a much better reputation. Thanks for the help.

Well the X-arcade is so bad, that replacing the stock joystick and buttons with Happ parts is considered a upgrade and Happ quality went down the tubes.
It isn’t just latency with the X-arcade, its drop inputs as well. Overall the X-arcade PCB isn’t very reliable.

I know the older boards were laggy, not sure if the new revisions are. If you want to continue using your tankstick, you can just install a MC Cthulhu (or two) and maybe throw in some actual arcade-grade parts.

You’ll want some IL Eurosticks and then either some concave or convex buttons

Tankstic’s problem is that it requires a converter for just about everything. The other issue it has is that, for the price, you’re getting gypped because they’re not built with arcade standard parts.

Thanks, but I’ll be OK. I want the Hori anyway, not just for the superior quality but the PS4 capability (and the fact that it has much more accessible buttons as well as it’s own Share button, it seems so much more explicitly made for the PS4 that it’s worth getting). I’ll keep my Tankstick for local co-op and PC usage (unless the Hori works with PC? Is that possible?). Thanks for the modding advice - I’ve never modded a fighting stick before, but I’m sure there are video guides somewhere.

Fair point. All the marketing and such boasts more about ‘industrial-grade’ durability and the lifetime warranty than having proper arcade parts.

Hey guys! Im new to arcade fightsticks and they have this model (Hori Real Arcade Pro V4 Hayabusa) at my local gaming store. Does this one works right away on PC? I mean just like plug and play? Sorry for my noob question. This will be my first stick ever if it will work on PC. I’ll use it also for my PS4 when more FG releases. Hoping someone can enlighten me.

Yes it’s plug-n-play and will work right away. I would recommend using it in PS3 mode for PC.

Thanks for the info! I’ll grab one later. I hope its really good! Thanks!

Is there a specific reason why PS3-mode would work better for that?

There is a number of features, like the home button not working on PC.

PS4 controllers only have basic controller support not full support on PC.
Most Hori PS3 controllers are plug and play

Hello everyone, I’m new I stumbled across this website while googling fight sticks that work with the PS4. I imported one last week and I just received my Hori HRAP V4 today and so far I’m pretty happy with it. A few things I wish were different but I can changed those later down the road.

anyone in the uk import this from play-asia? did you get hit with customs and if so how much was it?

I ordered one from an Amazon seller which is a seller from Japan. It was considerably cheaper than play-asia and I didn’t experience any problems with customs.

what was the seller name? cant find it listed. this was amazon .uk or .com?
edit : on amazon.com there is samurai_media_JPN4US, was that the seller?

Hori releasing a stick for xbox one as well.

15508yen, release 4 september.

thanks

Having never owned a Hori stick, being a fan of the Hayabusa, and having a PS4 on the way meant I’ve plumped for one of these. It’s been a while since I got a stick after all…

If I can ask a stupid question, though, I will, so…

…if I decide to get a plexi/ artwork done for this, would it be the V3/VX template or the V3/VX Kai one?

Cheers.
