Hori HRAP V4 announced... compatible with PS3 AND PS4

Like how my cable compartment door fell off into the storage space.
Now someones Joystick wire harness was never connected (they do not just fall off).

LOL Hori.

Don’t they usually have tape on them when they are connected? All the PS3/XBOX sticks I own have tape on them right where the connector plugs in.

if the joystick harness lacks that hook, which the V4 has, as well as the actual Sanwa JLF-H, Seimitsu HP-5 and toodles JLE-TE wire harnesses has then No.
if the wire harness lacks the hook, then there glue use, but the glue is stub standard measure for not having the hook.

And this is not something that just comes loose either, that wire harness snaps into place and is retained there by that plastic hook.

What happened is some one at the Hori factory forgot to plug that wire into place.

Replacing the dog crap cable storage door with a flat piece of ABS stock and a Switch Craft USB passthough.

The Innards

First thing I did was to loose those shit sanwa like but squeeky Kuro buttons for some nice Seimitsu buttons. But honestly I just wanted some nice white screw in buttons.
I also taken out the perfectly good Hayabusa joystick for a Sanwa JLW joystick.

Instead of replacing the joystick wire harness I though I go with an adapter this time.

The short internal USB cable, instead of cutting it off by the PCB and soldering it on the PCB end, I keep the connector for the USB and solder in (instead) a new USB type A Plug
which I got from Adafruit

I should do the same except the 8 buttons part. Dog shit door needs to go!

I keep it 8 buttons for now as I don’t have an art and plexy for it yet.
And I don’t like how button plugs look.

F.Y.I.
That sheet of ABS plastic I got there measures out 6-1/4" by 2-5/16"and I got it from Tap Plastics. The plastic piece was 1/8" thick.

Don’t ask me how to cut ABS, as I just had Tap do the cuts for me, I just later drilled the holes and glued the panel into place.

Does this stick work on PC?

Yup.

Worsk in both modes, but you get your best results in PS3 mode.

Nice. Mine should be here soon. I may do what you did but I may just reinforce the door with brackets so it looks original and then add the USB port. I am waiting on a large shipment from AmiAmi as a friend of mine is a figure collector and he gets cheaper shipping that way I’ll walk away paying $120. It’ll be good to play Guilty Gear Xrd when it releases using a stick.

Cool, thanks for the heads up Darksakul

Wonder what that extra connector next to the joystick header is and the other 5 pin on the wall side of the pcb.

Good question.

Any chance someone could unscrew the PCB and take a good pic of the front and back? I wish I could just buy the damned PCB… I have enough sticks in my house.

I shoot, I completely forgot. I get around to it in the next few days.

I do what to show this

This is a prototype but this is the Hori Real Arcade Pro ONE, the Xbox One version of the V4.
The Color is most likely not final.

Awesome. XBO version. That color is the old XBOX color.

Well it is the prototype.

So no turbo panel and a VLX cable door?

Sorry for the delay, got caught up with work and life and such.

Let me know if theses pics are okay
