Oh god I hope it just the harness. I really wanna check it out now but I don’t know how to open it up without voiding the warranty… ;/
Is there maybe a video that explains it?
He listed the item as new and he didn’t mention anything bout broken parts. And now he has relisted it. So the original eBay page along with the item number is gone. But I have enough evidence to show eBay that I bought it from him.
Also does eBay cover import charges too? I had to pay 50 euros import charges even though he lowered the value of the stick from 173 euros to 100 euros…
And I still haven’t given the dude any feedback so maybe I can threaten him to cover my import charges too or else he’ll get negative feedback lol? >:)
But really, I don’t know what I should do. Open it up? Or send it back?
I would definitely just open it and reconnect the harness. Odds are extraordinarily high that a disconnected harness is the only problem, especially considering there was already another report about an HRAPV4 coming like that (as Darksakul pointed out). Even if it were some other issue, you could have a modder fix it.
Normally, I’d say just open it up and fix it yourself- worst case scenario might have you needing to replace the lever PCB which would probably be cheaper and easier than dealing with shipping it back to Japan. Unfortunately, because this is a PS4 stick, the real worst case scenario is that the main board itself has a problem and that’s not something you can just order a replacement for at this point. Might be worth contacting the seller and see if they can help you resolve it before voiding the warranty.
You might be able to remove all but the warranty screws and pry the base back enough to see if the harness is loose.
Also, just got my shipping confirmation from Amazon- should be here on Monday.
@blueNINE If I knew a modder I would just bring it straightaway to him but unfortunately the FGC here in Belgium is virtually non-existant.
@FerrellJ By prying the base back, wouldn’t the side with the sticker fold/crease? ;o I could also try to heat the sticker a bit and try to get something beneath it to get it out safely?
And the seller replied me back. This was his message:

Hi
Sorry for such trouble.
I think you should not open the cabinet.
Please tell post office to get insurance…or maybe I do it for you?
I guess insurance process takes a month or so.
After that I may send replacement or make refund.
What do you think?*
I really don’t know what he means by ‘telling the post office to get insurrance or he can do it for me’…
Also, I really appreciate your advice! Thanks guys!!! (:
Okay so I finally got some time to do as @FerrellJ said.
I opened it up by the sides and it was indeed a loose wiring harness.
You couldn’t even imagine how fucking happy I was when I saw it unplugged.
Lol, actually I was going to mod it eventually but I didn’t wanna do it right away.
But I just like to replace the artwork. I already made a sweet Anna design. ^^
Glad to hear you got it sorted. I received my stick yesterday and I’m liking the feel of the stick. On the other hand, I’m not sure about the buttons- they aren’t nearly as padded as silent buttons but I do prefer the more “clacky” feel of Sanwas and the higher, sharper edge of the buttons make sliding (for rapid hands) less effective.
There also seems to be something moving around in the case- most likely the ferrite bead which looks to be in a different position than the old RAP. We’ll see how that turns out…
What plexy? There is no Plexy layer. The art is printed on plastic which is a little thicker and more durable than vinyl prints are applied directly to the metal panel.
That has to be one of the best stock artworks I’ve seen in some time. I’d be all over it if I could get it in the States and was also available on the Xbox.
Region exclusive agreements. Since the Amazon US also sells the Hrap V4, Amazon Canada will not ship your item to you.
Also International borders have really funny rules, Someone can only be a few miles from you, but if they live in Canada and you live in the US, it may as well be across the fricking ocean.
Looks like the V4 is now unobtanium in the US outside of eBay scalpers and international imports. Is Hori phasing the V4 out in favor of a Xbox One-like model or just seasonal shortages?
If anyone is interested, the sticks are back in stock at the US Amazon store for $146.36. I just ordered mine, and the Amazon website show that there are 5 left in stock.
