Hori HRAP V4 announced... compatible with PS3 AND PS4

Amazon.ca went from “Pre-order Ships Oct 28” to “Usually ships within 3 to 6 weeks.”

WTF Hori

Everyone calm down this is most likely just pre-release/new console gen issues we are not even going to have this time next year.
The community went though the same drama with the Xbox 360 and PS3, then again the scene was not this big prior to 2009.

to put it all into prospective

The Killer Instinct Mad Catz TE 2 for the Xbox One had their shares of supply shortages.
(last I checked) The PS3/PS4 version of the TE 2 is only out in Japan and they are having shortages (US preorders are up)

Its only Natural that the demand for the Hrap V4 pro is going to outstrip the supply.
Amazon (Amazon themselves are selling and not a 3rd party) is usually pretty good about pre-orders and shipping games on release.

There only 1 fighting game on the PS4 right now and that is Injustic, and that isn’t an exclusive.
So I am taking it everyone who angry in here is a Guilty Gear fan? The PS4 version of Skull Girls [is going to have PS3 Arcade stick Support](Help Mike Z make PS3 controllers work on PS4

There is nothing new about the Hrap V4 pro, its a Hrap V3 with Hayabusa/Kuro parts and a PCB that PS4 compatible.
Same body same top panel with the same layout. That is right the Hrap V4 has the Hrap V3 panel, not the Hrap V3 Kai panel the regular Hrap V3 panel.

if you are desprate for a PS4 stick, there are modders who do PS4 pad hacks and dual mods.

Thanks for the info thus far. Has anyone dual modded one of these yet?

I haven’t … Yet.

but I did probe the board with a multi-meter and it is common ground.
Here hoping it’s Active Low and not Active High (like the PDP fight pads where).

I found that hitting the gate was actually louder and more annoying than the micro switch clicking in the Hayabusa. Is it quieter when hitting the gate?

I found not riding the gate helps

For what it’s worth, Hori US has (had?) them in stock. When my Amazon preorder changed to “out of stock”, I cancelled it and made the purchase directly from Hori. I got my stick within a week.

I might cancel mine and just get the TE2 anyway. I’m kind of disappointed it is not the Kai layout.

Neither is the TE2…

From Hori Usa or Hori JP Evaunit02?

Mine from amazon.ca just changed to “Preparing for Shipment”

My one from Amazon US is still at ‘Not Yet Shipped’, but it finally gave me a delivery estimate - Monday, November 17th (shipping to Australia via Priority Courier Shipping, which supposedly takes 2-5 business days).

Yo guys,

My HRAP v4 Hayabusa came in today and I was sooo happy because it’s my first arcade stick. But this evening when I tried it out, all the buttons were working except the joystick… -_-
I tried all the switches in the top right corner but it had no effect…
I was really looking forward to playing with it. And I really don’t feel like sending it back to Japan and then waiting for it to come back…

So I was wondering if there’s maybe a quick fix for this? Maybe there’s something loose on the inside that I can fix with just a screw driver?
As I said this is my first arcade stick so I don’t really know much 'bout them but all help is welcome.

Thanks.

It is most likely the wiring harness fell off the stick in transit… It is really easy to check with a screwdriver, but you will void your warrantee in opening it up  so if it turns out to be a PCB problem you might be SoL.

It should be connected like this

The thing is the Warranty sticker is untouched, but I bought the stick on eBay and that user doesn’t accept returns I think. So the warranty is useless right?

And thanks for the quick response. I’m going to try it after I get a reply from the dude I bought it from.

ALSO: Let’s say it does turn out to be PCB, can I still fix it? @_@

It already happen before to a SRK user, his joystick wire-harness “fell off” as well.
You can reseat the harness without voiding the warranty (just avoid scratching up the stick with your screw driver)

Actually if the device is defective, both Amazon and eBay will allow you to send the item back for a FULL REFUND, even if they seller refuses.
You might have to open a claim against the seller to do so, but 99.9999999% of the time Amazon and eBay sides with the buyer.

The only exception is if the Defect was mentioned and the seller labeled the item as AS-IS/ Broken for Parts/Repair only and not labeled as USED.
Even then, if the item did not match the description on the page, you can open a case for a refund. eBay will Forceably withdraw the funds back from the seller and refund the buyer via paypal.
If Paypal fails, then the Seller gets a nice invoice stating they owe eBay money.

OK, my Amazon Hayabusa shipped, and the estimated delivery date changed to the 13th. Woo.

edit: And it’s already back to ‘out of stock’. Damn, I guess they’re just getting them in as they get new orders.

Got my amazon.ca order today, works fine.
