I recently got a private message regarding the HRAP for PS4:
I own a Hori RAP4 Fightstick for the PS4. It just stopped working in PS4 mode in the strangest way after the latest PS4 system update. It’s like the buttons are super laggy (like seconds later) inputs with stick are sluggish, and even navigating the PS menu is impossible. PS3 mode (legacy in SFV) still works fine.
Anybody have any ideas of how to fix this? How do you go about going to an older firmware, or can I update the firmware on the stick?
I don’t think it matters, i’m just looking to help a guy out. But if you must know, i got this PM on social media, not through here. I’m guessing this could be a firmware problem, since it sounds like it still works fine on PS3 mode, it’s just the ps4 mode that went bad
Well unless he has a Brook board in there, there’s really no downloadable firmware for the HRAP 4 that I know of. It’s pretty much a licensed stick for the PS4 and should work from now until kingdom come. I’d ask the guy if he can check what type of PCB is inside of it. That’s the first place to start.
hey what’s up, finally after a while he responded back. He said he didn’t use any cables except for a usb cable extension, but then he tried using the stick again without it and had the same issues. Also i had a hard time finding this thread… if you guys have more questions i can ask the guy, im gonna link him to this thread, and hopefully he has an account here. if you guys find this fishy, that’s fine, im just trying to help a guy out…
