I used to mess with my Hayabusa stick with different springs and such and eventually I put in the old spring back inside and it miraculously felt stiff, which for me it isn’t a bad thing. But does anyone know any possibilities as to how it became stiffer? And is it bad for the stick at all? I’m just wondering because the feel of this stick is unique to other Hayabusas and I want to replicate it.
could be the grease “dried up” or work it’s way out. it is not the spring as that get looser over time with wear. it also could be psychosomatic
A friend told me that due to the design of the hayabusa , that i will need to be relubed more often compared to a jlf/ls32. So it could be as dark said, add more lube and see if it still feels stiff.
Yeah I used silicone differential fluid used for RC cars and now it feels the same again! But does anyone know the correct lube to use at all? I haven’t found any documentation on what the hayabusa uses.
I assume Shin-Etsu Silicone Grease just like the jlf uses. You should be able to buy small amounts from the arcade parts shops like Paradise, Arcade Shock, Focus etc
Shin Etsu or Molykote Both work
To be specific, for Sanwa JLFs or Hori Hayabusas choose either:
- Shin-Etsu G-40M, or
- Dow Corning Molykote 44 Medium
Thanks, I sometimes forget what the numbers are.
As for anyone asking which one is better?
They have the same mil specs, so just go with what more accessible/cheaper.
