HORI Fighting EDGE

Interested in a picking up an FE.

How big adjustment is it going from Sanwa stick/buttons?

feels pretty similar, shouldn’t have a problem transisting

Does anyone know what the exact wires are that I need to run to get the start and select button working in my dual mod? I have the ps360+ and have everything bypassed but now I want to put the panel on and working with the start and select but I am unsure of which wires I need to bring over and if I can run the power for the panel to the vvc on the ps360+ or if I need to run a jumper to the original usb on the pcb for the FE.

If anyone has a diagram of the wiring schematics that would be fantastic. Just don’t want to mess it up cause that board costs $200

Sooo… you guys love the FE right? I had (and loved the Hori SCV) stick but the edge would dig into my forearm. Has anyone heard of/experienced this with the FE?

This thread is so quiet.

I haven’t had any sort of discomfort issues. The plexi is pretty flush with the front.

Never really had a problem playing on my friend’s Hori Noir stick, even after hours of constant play whic the same can be said with the Fighting Edge(ample surface space on both sticks).

I think one of the reasons why this thread is quiet is because there is no solid dual mod solution that will have the all the features working unless you buy a converter for it. As much as I would love to take it out to tourneys and casuals, some events are PS3 and Xbox 360 so I’d rather take out my other sticks with the same layout which are dual modded.

The very flat surface angle and higher placement of the buttons is actually pretty uncomfortable for me. I have mild carpal tunnel and this stick aggravates my hands/forearms. After several weeks of adjusting stick position and my posture to try and make the FE comfortable, I gave up and went back to the VLX.

I did like the feel of the buttons and stick, I just couldn’t deal with the discomfort from the difference in placement.

Exactly the info I was looking for; I had this issue with the SCV stick. Seems like the FE isn’t for me

The SCV dug into my forearms and after long hours of play actually hurt a lot. So far I haven’t had any problems with the FE. I actually find it very comfortable

Any idea who can or it’s making a 6 buttons plexiglas for The FE?

blklightning21 / Lightning Labels probably can.

After getting used to this stick, I swear I cannot stand JLF anymore.

I’d get the stick, but it’s so big.

Got my FE today. I think they have free shipping everywhere, which is nice.
Looks great when you take it out of the box. The stick and buttons feel pretty good. I’m not sure if it’s the notching or what, but I feel like the stick doesn’t hit down-left quite right.

Also, the touch panel doesn’t work, and Hori USA doesn’t give refunds, only exchanges. So I’ll be out a stick for like 2 weeks trying to get a replacement that I’m not sure will work anyway.

I love the size personally. Plenty of space to rest my palms flat and not at that stupid angle like on the Viewlix style controllers.

Sadly the gods who know the start/select secret are quiet about it…
Gummo plz spill the spaghetti on how to access start/select

Might be time for Stephen to sacrifice the Edge to the modding gods so the secrets can become unveiled… after midterms of course

But Michael has a Fighting Edge too!
Love the Fighting Edge’s form factor. The wide surface space of the stick accommodates the Noir layout, the proprietary parts aren’t very different to Sanwa IMO…The tension of the spring isn’t as high but the response/throw is definitely shorter.

I was testing to see, but I do remember that you can access the points directly on the main board and not the daughter.

Ive gotten to dual mod both system versions. Was suprised in the differences of getting start and select to work between the two versions. The ps3 ver seemed easier.

Hmm seems like I even have a pic on my phone of the ps3 pcb with the wires soldered at the spots so I know what goes where. I think its missing the location of the resistor so the leds dont burn out.
